In my last post i forgot to say what kind of skiing im doin, im in the park 30%, backcountry 60% and groomers/ice/moguls 10%

So pistols, or pocket rockets

it doesnt matter seriously, just test em both out and see what u like better. the rockets are really noodley, so maybe that will sway u one way or another.

Get a free ipod, its pretty easy.

pistols are soft too but personly im not a fan of slaomon and there space fram foam cores so id go with the pistols

what happined to drugs, sex, & rock and roll...now adays we have aids crack and techno.......

I own a pair of pocket rockets. I fuckin tear shit up on them. I've been on skis since I was 3 years old and I've skied on a lot of skis. The PR's kick ass. Now: I'm NOT saying that they are better than the pistols, because I have never skied the pistols so I wouldn't know. I imagine that if fuckin Seth Morrison uses them, they probably don't suck. They have more of a sidecut, probably similar (possibly a bit heavier) in weight. Both companies have good product. Saftest bet is to do like the first dude said--test them out.

Demo everything before you buy or borrow from a friend its not worth buying a pair of skis you dont like. I have the pocketrockets and I love em except for lotso chatter on rockhard groomers

We pay our debt sometimes.

The seth pistols are the shit and they have a cool graphic and they are made by the fucking greatest company in the world... K2!

yeah man, the rockets are sweet for like a half year and then they get all noodley and shit, im riding some fujatives right now and they are like the best skis ive every ridden so i bet the pistols are just a rad, plus you gotta give props to the graphics

Rockets turn to noodles then break. Also, their biggest size is 185 so if you are agressive, they won't be enough ski for you. On the other hand, the Pistols are downright beastly. I'm talking this years, last years were pretty soft, but these are tough. Check them out. Big fast lines and cliffs= Pistols. Short swing turns in pow and no jumping= PRs.

Again, Skimack, according to the K2 rep I talked to, this year's pistol is almost identical to last year, aside from a slight (noticeable, but not in any big way) stiffening of the tail. Not a huge change.

^That's great JD. My friend has a pair and I've flexed 04s and 05s side by side in a shop. I don't know if it's a matter of more material or what, but they are alot tuffer this year, and ontop of that, the Seth Vicious is supposed to be even tougher next year. So K2 is stepping up.

pistols are sick. rockets are dope skis. its all about personal preference on this one

here's my take on it. i weigh like 115 and i snapped the 165cm pocket rockets in half landing into 2 feet of powder off like a 20 footer. it wasn't a backseat landing or anything, it was like land and ride away, except with half of the ski broken. it didn't really give me a lot of confidence in the spaceframe core, so i bought 172 motherships instead and rode those all last year and they were dope. now seth modeled the original seth pistol after the mothership's flex pattern, just a little bit stiffer throughout. and the mo'ships are sick, so by extension, since the flex and sidecut are similar, the pistols are probably sick as well, eh? that's just my reasoning, and maybe it's flawed, but i'd say hit up some pistols.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

Wierd, mack, cause I've flexed 'em both too. Hardly noticed a difference except in the tail. Only the 189s, though, I didn't try the other ones. I don't think they needed that much of a step-up, myself... they've always been great sticks.

^Yeah, the tail was what I was talking about, sorry if I didn't make that clear. The nose and tail on the pistols are still made almost entirely of fiberglass, so they are still soft for float, but under and just behind the boot, they are much beefer for stability and landing. That's where all the new material and 'stiffness' is

Actually he does, he broke the only pair salomon gave him two years ago in his first week. It talked about that in his article in Powder Magazine. I guess they're giving him more pairs now or something though.

Skimack, the entire Pistol is wood core torsion box. Only about three inches of the tip and tail are different. It doesn't affect performance, it is simply for tip and tail shape and height. The overall flex of the ski and most importantly their surface area, is what allows them to float atop the pow. Seth site will be up this week!
