Pissed of New York mom wrote a letter to vail about weed and here is what is read!

This really has nothing to do with Vail. Not all people use discretion about what they do in front of others. It's up to parents to teach their kids to make smart decisions, not shelter them from what's out there. I'm guessing how the mom handled it impacted the teenager more than what he heard about pot.

"I had a terrible ski trip, there was too much snow, the kids wouldnt stop complaining and my husband (who does not wear the pants) was just drunk the whole time. I'm going to write this open letter complaining about Vail because I demand that the resort control other peoples conversations because it is always someone elses job to take care of my children growing up"

 
if you really want to smoke while you ski, just go take a break in your car and lite up. where your not exposing it to the public.
 
You can tell this letter was written in anger because the statements she makes are total bullshit. For her to say that a person who smokes marijuana from time to time can't lead a productive lifestyle, is just the stereotypical kind of remark an ignorant person would make. To say that it's not okay for people to talk about smoking around her son... Yeah just shelter him a little longer why don't you. I think on her part it'd be better to educate him on the effects of recreational marijuana use, and let him make his own informed decision. But wait, she doesn't actually know shit about it, does she? Too much of anything is bad, but I know dozens of successful people who partake in smoking weed on occasion, who lead great lives. If you let a single thing consume you then it's no wonder you won't be successful. But damn, stupid fucking people man.
 
yeah but a pothead and an occasional smoker are 2 very different things.

The word pothead already implies all they do is sit and smoke weed.
 
Move to Colorado, every small business owner I know smokes and all of them are doing well. Smoking at work makes me far more productive, less focus on the time and more on work

Also i know more people that smoke then dont smoke. Including the owner of my 100 million dollar company.

 
Exactly. Out here in Cali thats far from the truth. My Dad has a circle of golf buddies he plays gold with every other day and I know they toke up out on the course regularly. And these are very wealthy, high class, well spoken men. Normal people smoke weed.

It sounds like this bitch has a problem with the legalization itself rather than Vail resorts. It's not not Vail's fault weed was legalized and people choose to smoke/talk about it in Colorado. Plus, there are way too many generalizations in her letter to even be considered close to a valid argument. What does she want? Vail resorts to clip passes for even talking about pot? Good luck with that one, lady.

Also, I couldn't help but read the entire letter in the rich snobby housewife voice.
 
and your definition of a productive lifestyle is? every pothead i know is a college graduate and has a fulltime job, and pays taxes. i dont know what can be more productive than that dude. if your talking about homeless people thats one thing, dont generalize due to your friends being douchers

This bitch seems a little conceited considering someone posted her lawsuit and she had a salary of $155,000. That's pretty pathetic for someone who says: "The people who live this type of lifestyle can’t afford to support resorts like Vail that frankly cater to a demographic more like my own, and candidly, you don’t get to be successful by engaging in this type of lifestyle."

Please, maybe if you were sitting on a few mil a year but you ain't even make $200k and are saying that the people who live this type of lifestyle can't afford Vail which caters to a demographic more like her own. I know people who would put this bitch in her place laughing at the minuscule amount of money she makes while claiming to be some type of posh Vail type. Like not only is her point wrong but her attempts to brag are pathetic she has nothing to brag about she's not even in the highest tax bracket

yes, but its common courtesy to conform to certain societal standards of decency. Generally, if you don think the majority of people would feel comfortable talking about a subject at thanksgiving dinner then its probly not very polite to have a loud conversation about it in public with families around.

16 is too old for her to still be sheltering her son though.

And from my experiences being around the people that have a C and an O in their job title, those people partied hard in the past, and still party hard now when a situation presents itself. Ski vacations are a prime time for those guys and gals to relieve their youth, and let it hang out a bit.

She is way off base IMO, but her views represent the views of a LARGE portion of our country.
 
I find it ironic that she's seemingly clueless how COMMON it is for waiters/waitresses/bartenders to be hounded by men (& women) of her income bracket looking to get some herb in Vail Village.

It never ceases to amaze me, the gigantic size of blinders that wealth affords.
 
haha I skied Beaver Creek for a day last year with my family, and happened to wear my rasta beanie. 3 separate upper class-appearing people asked me where to buy on the chairlift, not realizing I was sitting next to my aunt and uncle.

Is it because wasting money and ruining life's trying to fight it is a good idea? Or is it because it is related to domestic violence and major health risks like alcohol and cigs? (Hint- it's not.) Or MAYBE it's because its been illegal so long that there must be some reasoning behind it? Right?

Keeping drugs (all drugs not just weed) illegal keeps tax revenue from the state while also funding cartels. In addition, the costs of fighting the war on drugs is huge (Think 15Bil huge) yet we barely put a dent into the amount of drugs floating around on the street.

Wouldn't you much rather live in a society where ALL drugs were legalized, taxed, and regulated in a way that the users could be guaranteed a pure dosage that had been tested and proven to be a certain strength than have billions of dollars fund illegal cartels which are responsible for thousands and thousands of deaths each year?

Sorry, for the rant but please tell me why weed should be illegal. No doubt that inhaling hot air can cause lung and throat irritation but there really haven't been any medical studies that show permanent damage to fully developed people.
 
Who cares? If your that overprotective over your son I can guarentee you once he leaves home he's gonna be doing things she dosent like anyways. Bitch needs to realize it's life and you cannot control your kids forever.

Side note: why does she have to be from my state...... I swear NY amazes me sometimes with the rich stuck up people from downstate. Oh well maybe I'll run into her on the slope some day lol, that should be fun
