is it me or are some pipe getting to big. 99%of the time people cant get above the lip. We really need so 8 foot pipes to learn on

i would doubt that the pipe size is the main problem for not getting above the lip, i think its the speed of the skier. if there's nowhere to get speed, then yeah, the pipe should be scaled down.

but if the skier chooses not to take alot of speed into the pipe, then complains about not boosting above the lip, then pipe size is not the problem.

if your too scared to have enough speed to get out of an 18 foot pipe maybe you should be out learning how to ski instead of gettin in peoples way in the park.

its definitely not because the pipe's are too big. The progression of skiers boosting 15+ ft. off the lip definitely needs a large pipe so you can actually land it.

Once you get up to speed the big walls are great because the transitions are so long and smooth you have alot of time to position yourself think instead of hitting the transition and all of a sudden your in the air. If you think about it its actually safer. Anyway I know how you feel its not easy getting your speed up and going for it in the pipe. When i drop in i dont even get above the lip but about half way down the pipe i'm about 5 ft. out. Not that great but i just ride pipe because its fun.

big pipes arent a problem, misshaped pipes are, and alot of places have mini pipes for ppl to learn on, but its not very hard to learn how to in a 15 foot

i have a 7 foot pipe here at home, and it sucks. Sure people were getting out, but it was no fun for anyone.

are you joking? 8 feet? little pipes are scary... suddenly your at the top of the wall and its like what? the bigger the better... sort of.

Bigger pipes have more forgiving transitions - easier to learn on. Just don't be preoccupied with getting above the coping your first time out.

the bigger the better, I'm used to a shitty rareley cut small half pipe but we made a road trip to louise post season last year for the super pipe and I did soo much better on 17ft walls compaired to the weak 9ish we have

anything less than 15 ft walls is considered a ditch, and not a halfpipe.

Yeah it's more easy learning in a bigger pipe, it flows so much smoother.

i get all of your points, but i understand whats hes saying, maby he need to work his way up to a bigger pipe and start with a ten footer to get the feel of it, but if u just tear up the pipe, thats not cool

i love to ski, so should you, its fun, try it sometime
