pipe: skiers vs boarders

i was at the x games and saw alot of skiers and snowboarder doing the pipe. The skiers went so much higher but the boarders had some better style. which sport do you think is progressed furthest in the pipe right now?

 
given the time that skiers have actually skied pipe seriously I think that skiing has progressed much more quickly than snowboarding, but I think that snowboarding is still a little more developed in the pipe than we are.

The snowboarders have had at least 4 more years of pipe riding for progression, and the simple shape of the pipe lends a bit more style to the natural movements of a snowboarder. Also, take into consideration the crappy pipe. The snowboarders had a much better pipe than the skiers, but Dumont still boosted, and Jon (and others) was spinning both ways down the pipe.

Skiers can def pump the tranny harder and carry more speed, hence more height. I think we have just about caught up to snowboarders, but the two sports are progressing so much differently right now it is tough to really compare the two.

...he died doing what he loved. He will always be rememberd as a great snowboarder, but more importantly as a great friend.

i think the skiers. if you watch some of the guy boarders and almost all of the girl boarders spin the are just like flailing their arms and stuff. skiers go higher too. + boarders have been doing half pipe longer then skiers. so i say that skiers are progressing a lot faster.

You people are idiots... snowboard pipe destroyed us this year. Not that it's a competition, their runs were just completely superior. Ski Xpipe sucked balls.

Yea overall I thin ski has progressed a little more and X isnt a good comparison cuz Ski finals were the last thing in Pipe they had the Women goin that day practice and prelims befroe the finals so that pipe had to be icy as shit!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

actually, now that i think about it, the best boarders from this year did runs at about the same level that candide and CR threw 2 years ago. so, we were way ahead. WERE.

in pipe, boarding looks so much more smooth... skiing is kind of hucked, but skiers go way huger.

holy crap we were totally destroyed by the snowboarders. they pushed the limit and each and every one of them had a classy attitude about stuff. none of them went nuts and make a complete ass hole of themselves like simon did. i had so much more fun watching snowboarder superpipe, after i saw the prelims i was stoked to see the finals. i was stoked to see skiing too but there was just something flat about it. the air of excitement was gone cuz no one was killing it like the snowboarders did. o well, i loved jons style, he got fuckin ripped off again this year, i loved tanners pants, but travis rices identical white pants were sicker, i loved how antti autti, danny kass, and andy finch went huge, and i liked the fact that the young guns like dan marion got out there and tried harder than the actual pros did.

Spiking your poles like tanner after completing a run was so gay and skiing really did not progress at all, simon had basically the same run last year. Autti and Finch were sick, snowboard was much much better.

 
snowboarders in the xgames were sooooooo much smoother then the skiers.

Its easy to look smooth when your feet ae strapped to one board far apart and cant move. they can huck stuff with no grab and look smooth
