Pipe or flatbar?

planning on making a rail for backyard skiing this winter and possibly for a summer set up next year.

i am somewhat new to park but i am a confident skier (im learning threes)

anyways i was wondering if i should make like just one big pvc pipe or a flatbar, i am leaning towards flatbar because it is cheaper for me and im worried theat if i use just a big pipe cose to the ground i wont be able to do flatbars so ya also i saw the tuttorial for 15 foot flatbar that looks good but i dont have a huge yard will 8 feet or so work??

also i didnt knwo about this cult when i posted in SG so sorry if you have already seen this

thanks for the help :) +k

i started out with an 8ft rail. itll work for sure but itll get annoying once youve learned 2s out and switchups/blind. trying to link together tricks on a short rail when youre first learning can get super frustrating. I personally recommend one wide pvc but whatever you think will be easier.

sorry sorry sorry lol i should have been more clear when i say flatbar i mean like pvc pipes llined up beside so creating like a pvc and wood flatbar sorry guys

Oh true. Ok well a flat bar would for sure be better for learning, but a big round PVC is easily a lot more fun. Big round PVCs are amazing

My first rail i built was a flat bar of pvc so

Maybe for your first one go with that

what do you use now? also why are they so much fun??

A 2x4 with 2 pipes is probably the easiest. You can get 2" pvc anywhere.

Would recommend going at least 10' on the rail though. You can always make another so it's not THAT big a deal but anything under 12' is a lot smaller than it seems. Your average flat box at a mountain is 16'.

At the same time something is better than nothing. See what you can do to stretch your spac. Maybe if you have a fence have the deck of the drop the same height or higher so you can hang your tips over the other side, gain an extra 1 or 2 of space for the rail.

Idk good luck though.

Kinda relevant... my friend and I have this corrugated tube. Any suggestions on how to make it rideable? By that I mean what can we do so that its not rolling around everywhere?

Put a 2x4 that runs parallel under the tube (kinda like this =======, profile view)

then put 2-3 ft. 2x4's every 4-5 ft. perpendicular (kinda like this -|----|----|-, birds-eye view)
