The dead line for this pention just changed.

We have until Friday to get as many people on the petition as possible before submitting it to the Snowsports organisation and eventually FIS! This way we can get enough names to make a positive impact (at a time when apparently people at FIS are campaigning to get SkierX as an Olympic sport before Halfpipe!).

If anyone knows anyone at NBC who has some lobbying ability to sway the dinosaurs at FIS, then that would go a long way.....
 
I dont think nbc is high in the fis agenda,

their coverage is basically the worst in the world, even if they pay a fortune for broadcast rights for the usa.

but heck i'll sign it too, they had the canadian pipe championship just recently

which is sanctioned by freesyle canada who

obides by fis rules, still may happen in 2010 but only as a demo sport,
 
Right now, the latest rumour for the next Olympic skiing sports are Team

Alpine, Women's Ski Jumping, and Ski-X. Half Pipe is a distant fourth.

FIS is full of alpine-biased dinosaurs that need to be convinced otherwise and have their closed minds opened. One of the best ways of doing this is through a lobbying influence like NBC. NBC is interested in broadcasting hype events like pipe and Ski-X. Who cares about more alpine? There are already too many alpine events and only two freestyle skiing events. If you get NBC -- or any other connected lobbyist -- on board with lobbying for pipe, then you have a chance for 2010.....
