Pipe cleaners on rails? +kk

PC's are a bad choice for rails....

Look into Volkl Wall's like the post above says.

Or a pair of Line Chronics.

i love how everybody thinks race bases are pillow soft and that rails will leave massive trenches in them.

You will be fine, just keep them waxed well and take care of them. I had a friend with park skis w/race bases that he didn't wax or take care of, and I cleaned them and put a fex sticks of P-Tex evenly underfoot and scraped them off and the skis were great. Not to mention race bases are way easier to repair than sintered, which don't hold P-Tex, and don't hold wax as well. still though if you are doing more than 50% rails probably get T-Halls. hope it helps

Isnt the race base sintered? Sintered is faster than extruded unless it has graphite in it etc.

you confused me.

oh and chronic bases do scratch fairly easy compared to say moments, and are super hard(IMO, anyways) to fix gouges. good skis though if you want a ski mounted a few back that is stiff, but maby also think about antidogmas?(don't remember flex though, just good bases)

the bases on my pipecleaners are still fuckin pristine.. everybody who says no they're too soft blahh bullshit. my edges are just starting to go after two seasons of park too so.. yeah, they're solid on rails. just wax them once in a while and you will be fine. they're such sick skis.

my '07s have thin edges and soft bases, but the later models seem to be better. my friend showed me his 09s after a few days of shredding hard in the park and they looked fantastic. absolutely no base scratching or edge damage. still, if you're doing a lot of rails on them, i'd probably just go with the ar6.

incredibly and completely wrong. a race base is actually HARDER than a regular base. they will hold up fine on rails, HOWEVER you do need to wax them more often, as they get dried out and brittle more easily.

and the edges are the same thickness as on all their other park skis now. it was just the first year they were thin

They will be fine... i skied rails and hit a few rocks on them and the bases are still pristine...awesome. they are a sick ski you should get them

NS kids are idiots. Ive been a proud owner of pipe cleaners for 2 years and they have been pretty heavily railed and i only have 1 edge crack. The race base is indeed harder than a regular base much like ben said and the edge is the exact same as the rest of armada's park lineup. The skis are pretty damn light and a complete treat on rails. I personally liked them on rails more than anthems. If you want a more complete review on PC's PM me or Caveman.

yah, and most people on this thread agreed(except the first few). Race bases are better everywhere except very low coverage skiing IMO, where sintered 4000 seems to not get scraped much at all and sharp rocks for sure can put gouges in race bases(which are easy to fix, though, unless to the core). Race bases are just so much better on park skis. I own 181 PCs and 188 Coombas with race bases and LL2s with the rock hard base

hahaha kip is the one that told me about the race base thing, i actually didnt originally know that.
