Pipe Cleaner or THall

So I can't freaking decide. I've heard good and bad things about both skis. I'm looking to order either 2008 Pipe Cleaners or THalls this weekend when my paycheck comes. I want pretty park specific skis, I have my Bacons for the other stuff. I want the ski to be solid on rails as well as jumping and pipe.

I'm 5'8" and am set on the 176cm. I like the idea of the race base but I've heard it's super soft and easy to gash out, but on the THalls my buddy had (the scarface ones not the 08) they turned to wet noodles real fast for him. Price doesn't matter I've found both for mad cheap around the same range.

So as I said, I'll be using these as a dedicated park ski. Maybe 70% jumping and 30% Rails. Urban stuff now and then too.
 
get pipe cleaners over t-halls. i've heard the bases aren't as soft as armada says they are and they should hold up ok on rails. don't be a dumbass and like hit rocks and u won't have any problems.

my question is- why not get the AR6? its like the best of both worlds- hard base, stiff enough for jumps.
 
defnitly get the t halls i have them and theyre so sick. and ull ruin the racebase if u get the pipecleaners
 
if you were doing only pipe/park/all mtn, i would say pipe cleaners..

but seince youre doing park/pipe/and rail, i would say t halls for sure.. 176. and unless your 200 lbs, you wont turn them into noodles
 
I would go with the ar6, its just like the t-hall, except a little wider just in case you find yourself in pow, the pipecleaner doesn't do to well on rails, its a jump/pipe specific ski, where as the ar6 is a rail/jump ski, it still forgiving in the pipe. The Ar6 is best for your buck
 
you clearly know nothing, AR6 and THall = same specs...

Pipecleaner holds up a lot better than people say it does. I would personally go with the pipecleaner.If you can get it for the same price as the Thall and yo don't want to butter everywhere then it's your ski.
 
re-crue, you are new to this site and i just want to help you out, look your shit up or knw your shit before you start giving advice, it's people like you that can balls everything up with peoples purchases, you clearly know nothing on the topic and haven't ridden all 3 skis so can't really give a fair comparison can you.

Please newbs, do your research or know your stuff.

The AR6 is in no way an inferior/AM ski to either the thall or PC.

TJ was riding it in the pipe in SPNZ, he uses it a fair amount of the time.

basically, you got the pipe cleaner which is the stiffest of the 3, performs best on big jump lines and deep landings, runs the same edges and all that jazz (that was a problem with the first years, they ran 22s, now on 25s like the other 2 (better for rails)) and is amazing in the pipe. Then you have the AR6 which is sick, more forgiving than the PC, so softer, doesn't have the race base, yet still handles everywhere you want to ride. Finally you have the T, which is pretty damn soft, kills rails but can feel washy on bigger jumps (50+) real buttery and good fun.
So you gotta decide which you like the sound of the most. For me, it's the PC, the race base is superior and not as soft as you think. But the AR6 is the compramise between both.
 
I have the pipe cleaners... Base is fine, i hit rails quite a bit and the base is good. Gave em a base grind at the end of the season and they came up like new. Hit a few rocks on them as well so the base is tougher than you might think.

They sweet for pipe and jumps especially and super light. and excellent all mountain which is also great for doing some cruising.
 
Since your doing more jumping than rails, I would say the pipecleaners. Also, resort rails don't really trash up your skis that bad at all. If you do alot of rails though, might as well get the AR6's.
 
ar6 for sure. the stiffness will help in pipe but they are still great on rails. and what do u mean they are to "am"? jacob and tj use them
 
I would say for 70% jumps and 30% rails the pipecleaners are what your looking for. I have the pipecleaners and they are sick on everything. You can hit rails with them. The race bases are a little bit softer than the t-hall's which just increases your chances of getting bigger gouges, but mine have held up fine. But if your looking for a more playful ski and like to butter a lot than go with the t-halls.
