hello,
I need your advice: i have to change my old salomon teneighty 2 (yes, they still alive).I'm 1m78 and 73 kg. My programm is 40% park, 40% groomers, and 20% powder, and i ride in the French alpes.
I'm thinking about 2 skis witch are supposed to be good in a "one quiver":_ Armada Pipe Cleaner 2009 181cm_ Icelantic Pilgrim 2009 179cm
What do you think about it?

well, pipe cleaner is supposed to be a pipe ski, but eveybody say that is pretty good in all mountain. And at the beginning, pilgrim was a park ski, but now it is introduce like a one quiver.
Maybe the definition of a one quiver ski is not the same because is ride in French Alpes, Europe.
(sorry, my english is far to be perfect.)

To be completely honest, neither of those are really all mountain. Many companies will classify skis as all mountain to open their classifications, but they are more park oriented. Armada Pipe Cleaners would most definitely be park specific skis, while AR6's are classified as an "All-mountain Park ski", however I feel they are too narrow to be ridden all over (I own a pair).

Look for a wider waist on the ski and perhaps some rocker. Stiffer and longer would also help you to ski a varying range of conditions you might find in the Alps. Some good skis to start with would be ON3P Jeronimos 189?, K2 Kung Fujas 189 (95 Underfoot, Rocker), Armada ARV 185, Volkl Bridge, Liberty Double Helix, Line Blend 100 Underfoot, Line Prophet 90/100, K2 Obsethed 189 (103 Underfoot?).

Others are definitely out there, but I can't remember any others right now, its kinda late.

181cm Pipe Cleaner, mount @ -2.5cm + kill it everywhere ... They are an epic all mountain ski! Stiffer and lighter than the AR6, therefore better IMO

if you are skiing in the french alps...neither are particularly good one ski quiver...the pilgrim would be better of the two in this case though

there is no such thing as a one ski quiver for a good skier.

pipe cleaners would be good for park and cruising, but no good if you want to take them off groomed runs. your best bet is going to be a K2 Kung Fujas 179. they kill it in park, have a decent amount of width and rocker so they will be fun in pow, and are serviceable on groomers.

also, check out Moment Tahoe 180s. they will slay park, have stiffness for all mountain carving, and at 96 underfoot would be ok in pow.

Thxs for your answers.
K2 Kung Fujas looks nice, but i don't know what i should think about it, cause with 95mm underfoot it's supposed to be not very good on groomers.
For the moment Tahoe, it's the same...

Anyone have riden with the kung fujas on groomers and ice?

coming from my shitty ice coast mountain, i can tell u 95 underfoot isnt terrible. it takes a bit of getting used to, but it kills once u get used to getting it up on edge

well, i heard that Pipe Cleaner take a bit of time to get used on groomers...
Have you really enjoyed riding with the kung fujas?
