Pink Floyd-dark side of the moon/Reggae style

its reallllly sweet, i just got the sgt peppers cover from the same dudes and in my opinion its even better!

They also did a cover of Radiohead's OK Computer, which is also amazing.

I still prefer blasting Floyd's Dark Side on vinyl, but the reggae is really fun sometimes.

haha sorry but I tried listening to this a long time ago. Dark Side of the Moon is so amazing because it is jazz/blues/psychedelic/prog, and a poorly-mixed dub cover just seems shameful. Could be because I can't stand dub/reggae to begin with, but whatevs.

im not one to like remixes but this one is so epic if you listen to them both at the same time original and this version its has the same flow

It was interesting to listen to, and I'll keep it in the itunes, but there is no improving Dark Side. I'd go ahead and call it the best album ever recorded, and although one may attempt re-styling it, the original is immortal. I will go ahead and say this is the best cover I've heard, just because it is so different from the original. All other covers I've heard have sounded like carbon copies at a different pace, or something done with different instruments and no creativity. This is different from that, but it has nothing on the original.

"a poorly-mixed dub cover"
cringe. please listen to it first before you say things as ridiculous as that

karma police off of radiodread by the easy star all stars is amazing, a friend from work showed them to me and instantly loved it. +k

FUCK, I fully agree with Righteous. on this one. As a diehard Floydeian, (built the wall stage out of legos cheya!) I believe that you cant take a already perfect album and try to copy it or even better it. ya I love reggae and ya I kinda liked it but really, really why do people feel the need to try and do it with they're "own style". Just leave it alone and let it bask in the greatness that Dark Side is.

Dub Side of the moon is amazing, i can't decide which is better to listen to stoned the dub or the original? Both have there advantage A) Pink Floyd is amazing (especially on Vinyl through vintage seventies speakers) and B) the Dub is like a hybrid of amazingness and reggae.

i also fuckign LOVE their version of "let down" featuring toots from toots and the maytals. sooo funky. and great to ski to

I totally agree, I think DSOTM is legendary, but this is one of the few truly original takes on covering the album, and I respect that as well, plus it's pretty fun to listen to.

But I'm still listening to the Floyd version of Time right now. So take that for what it's worth.

And Claire Torre's (sp?) improv at the end of the Great Gig in the Sky?

Booyah. Incredible. Blows my mind every time.

Some nerds? Easy Star is easily the most notorious reggae record label out there today. Their new 'Easy Stars Lonely Hearts Dub Band' features songs covered by Matisyahu and Steel Pulse. You're a nerd.

i love pink floyd but i honestly dont think its that great of an album, wish you were here and the wall are better imo, i think the perfect album is sgt. peeper's and they did an awesome cover of that

..so doing a cover of a cover makes the original cover-er the original creator? think about that there BROSEPH

Ok... from my understanding, Easy-Star is a reggae record label. They make a reggae backtracks derived from songs from popular albums such as Dark Side of the Moon or OK Computer, then gather together many popular reggae artists to vocalize and finish these tracks, ultimately becoming known as the Easy Star All-Stars... SIR.
