The add keeps popping up all over ns for me..

anyways what a terrible terrible add, I mean honestly who is head of marketing for them?

WE SELL GLOVES, BITCH!

ya now that they say it like that, the sell gloves to people between 18-22. Im 25 and think a picture of a big gun for one is stupid and 2 as I said before I read we sell gloves, bitch and that just makes me laugh and go wow no thanks. people under 18 will probably have to show their parents what they are buying since they dont have a credit card. my mom would be like.. cant you choose another company to buy gloves from other than one thats main line for marketing is we sell gloves, bitch.

Oh and the name of the company is Pimp Hands.. that narrows the market down to an age range spanning no more than 3 or 4 years.

set up for failure.

incase anyone was wonder I_Am_Mod is one of few legit mods on this site. word up to I_Am_Mod.

I agree completely, they need to rethink some shit. I'm 17 and I would never think to have a stupid gun on my glove. WTF is this shit, were not from the hood.

Lol

But dude they totally make gloves for the hardcore ski bum that holds his pants together all season with duct tape. For 70 bones I don't think so.

Truthfully I didnt even look at the price of these gloves before making this thread. 70 bucks is a lot for a pair of gloves.

I just cant see this catching on and im not trying to hate on the guys that started it. its awesome they are doing what they want and starting a company doing something they love. I just wanted them to see some concerns from someone that is consumer and from someone that knows many other consumers and how they think.. i.e. kids, parents, teenagers, 20 year olds..

In my first post I said I wasnt all for the gun design, to tell you the truth its not that bad I dont mind it. Yes its 2 products its just the start hopefully they will be able to get to bigger and release some more stuff. I just feel for them that will be tough to do with this kind of marketing and advertisements. The gangster skis scene is definitely still here and i consider myself more of the "gangster/street" dressing skier but that doesnt mean that us gangster type skiers will want pictures of guns on what we wear.

aslo didnt troyan already have a glove with a DE on it?

Sorry but gloves with guns on them, honestly they make you look like a douche. I checked them out because I thought it would be a legit aussie company, but they're called 'pimp hands' and their products seem to be solely aimed at the 'douche' market, both product and advertising would attest to this.

honestly i thought it was a littllle ironic that you thought the gun was stupid when you have a ninthward .gif as your icon.

as for the gloves im not a huge fan but i dont hate them

hey guys

glad to see people are taking interest, either way they look at it. Whether they get it or not.

Im glad you see that we only have 2 products and that means something. We are only starting out. Im only 25 and my business partner just turned 22. We work full time to afford this company. So we can only afford to make one product ya see. No backers, no unwanted influence.

And honestly if you think 70 bones is too much, shoot us an email and tell us! We want to be as transparent as possible. Same goes for anything else. We're always open to hear your ideas & view points. Otherwise I would of just read this thread and done nothing. If you think it should be cheaper tell us, we'll see what can be done. If your sick of something in the industry, tell us!

Like you said, we only have 2 products and they won't appeal to people who don't see the irony. We're just about having a laugh and not taking shit too seriously.

We have some cool mitts and pipe/ park gloves coming out next year so stay tuned.

you handled the hate well. I applaud you. As for a recommendation- Make some products with guns, others without. This way you broaden your consumer audience. Also, definitely cheaper. Start low, once you get a good reputation start bringing out some high end gloves and sell those at the higher price. People will be all over your product if its good and cheap, and thats ultimately what you want, an initial following.

Thanks for the feedback.

Head over to our FB page. We have a few sneak peak shots of the 12/13 season mitts that north america will be able to get in stores. sans guns.

Cheers

Honestly i thought the gun thing was kind of funny. So dont think everyone dislikes it. Also i agree that $70 is a little high. A reasonable price (in my opinion) $50-60

i think the gloves are pretty funny, when someone does the pistol motion with their hands itll look more legit haha, dope that theyre hadling the hate pretty well, would chekc out thier gloves without the guns if i didnt pick up a pair of hestras this season

honestly the name is pretty cool, but the guns are just a little to pimp for me.

i some how before ahmet wearing these lol

haha! exactly! thats why its called the shooter mcgavin get it. heres our inspiration haha

oh and the price $69.. was pretty much about keeping it in the name..we'll see what we can do for newschooler specific buyers...

These gloves have ZUMIES writen all over them, every kid that can't ride but likes to accessorize to look cool sitting under jumps or in the way above rails will be all over this stuff. I already have a friend that snowboards that I know if he saw theses he would buy them and he worked for zumies at one time. If the guy that made these that posted above marketd to zumies it would probably be a good move.

You can create custom pages on Big Cartel that will appear under 'Info' on the right-hand side. I recommend moving your sizing chart to a custom page so people don't think they have to have a credit card to view the glove sizing.

$70 is pretty standard for gloves over here, in Australia the general prices of everything are much higher than the US and Canada.

I personally think $70 isin't that much for gloves if that's your retaill price, I would be more concerned about weather I was paying for the cool design or I was actually getting good gloves. A good pair of gloves should be atleast $100, you do not wan't to skimp on gloves and leather is the way to go.

i think they're great, waiting to see what people say about the quality but i think they're funny as hell and i'll drop 70 bucks on a pair of gloves if they're actually well made. if not, i'll buy a pair of black gloves and draw guns on them with a silver sharpie.

One of the most professional and honest responses I have seen from a company . +k

If you want to be more transparent maybe you could provide us with a cost break down and a what your percentage markup is. i understand you need to make a profit but if you are charging 70 bones they should be pretty damn warm and waterproof in addition to brandishing that Gun logo. Personally I think it is quite cool.

Personally wouldn't wear them but like the idea.

By far the biggest concern for me (and I expect alotta others) is the quality. 70 is enough to ensure you get a decent pair of gloves if you do a little research and support the right people, but it's also enough to be bummed if the product you spend them on falls apart in two weeks.

In my opinion the market hole for this product is in a cheaper glove. I'd rather pay 40-50 for some thinner pipe gloves than 70 for something only marginally thicker and warmer.

also +k to pimphands for dealing with the hate so professionally
