To post a picture. There are two different ways.
a.) HOST A PICTURE YOURSELF
To host a picture yourself.
1. use your own domain name. these cost money. domains like www.whatever.com , but you can store alot of things on it. I have my own which is what I use.
2. ask someone on here who has their own domain name if they can host it for you.
3. The FREE WAY is to register a www.geocities.com account or www.angelfire.com
Once you sign up for them they will show you how to UPLOAD things to your new server. once you've uploaded it to your new server (it'll be like www.geocities.com/freddy) you can now use it.
The picture is uploaded on your website, now how do you make it show up in the forums?
Well my friend, you are going to need the assistance from our good friend HTML.
Find out the location of your picture.
It could be www.geocities.com/freddy/skier.jpg
(skier.jpg being the photo)
or it could be www.geocities.com/freddy/images/skier.jpg
Or whatever site it is on.
You need to know the location of the photo.
then once you are in the forum you use some html.
this should work: you must place '' around it. that is the LESSER sign and greater sign. enclose it around the following:
img src='http://www.geocities.com/freddy/skier.jpg'
b.) YOU CAN USE A PICTURE FROM ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET.
the way you are going to do this is to find out the actual location of the photo.
Let's say you want to use a picture of a skier off of freeskier.com
You know the picture is on freeskier's website, but where is it ACTUALLY located.. it could be in any folder.
Well, one way to find out.. is to right click on the picture then go to PROPERTIES , it will show you the picture's ADDRESS (URL).
Once you know that do html again.
img src='http://www.freeskier.com/skier.jpg'
Remember: you MUST USE the Lesser and Greater sign. place the LESSER SIGN before img , and put the GREATER SIGN after .jpg'
You can also use EXTRA tags in your html code.
Border='#' . this creates a border around picture.
If you put the # to zero, then there will be NO BORDER
Width='#' . you can control how wide the picture is, the # is the Pixes size that it is (or %).
Height='#' you can control the height of picture. the # is pixel size (or percentage)
example:
img src='http://www.freeskier.com/skier.jpg' border='3'
img src='http://www.freeskier.com/skier.jpg' heigth='320' width='240'
Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.
