The pictures were taken from a military helicopter (like the rescue helicopters featured in one of the resort pics), so I'm assuming it's Russian media of some sort taking the pictures. The aerial views definitely make things look really nice, but keep in mind that a lot of the Olympic buildings/venues will be very nice, but a lot of the other infrastructure projects/construction sites in the town will be dirty and run-down looking.

@the people asking about snow

Look at the resort pics. Some of the pictures on the next page in that thread show a 22ft pipe going up at one of the resorts and what could be a slopestyle or mogul run (no course was on it, just flat, obviously).

The town itself rarely gets snow. The resorts have plenty of snow.

This is my internal battle right now. But these pictures are on a pretty grand scale. You'd think if they were trying to convince us it would just be closeup pictures of the interior of the one or two pretty buildings. But the huge ass aerial photos don't look half bad.
