Picture ratings

To me most seem pretty pointless, those that are rated high usually have 1 or 2 votes. Are the ratings even worth having up if they are rarely used?

 
^have any suggestions? i guess they could make it so pictures have to be rated at least 5 times but i dont know how well that would work

yeah that's a hard one, I know that right now it's not very convenient to rate the pictures, so possibly first making less time consuming may help such as a next picture button

 
Also, right now people can rank their own stuff indefinitely.

So, a huge problem is that one person can completely bring down a picture from a top spot and keep rating his so his is better.

Which is really kind of stupid when you look in the top rated section and you see someone sliding a lame boxed ranked higher than pep's crevass gap or some of the insane other pictures on here.

 
yeah that's what I'm saying.. I want to be able to see some good pics not just some overly ranked ones.

 
I completely understand and agree with where you are coming from. Hopefully it is something that will be fixed in the near future.

A system of one rating allowed per each unique ip address could help resolve that issue. But still, the rating feature is something that will be abused regardless. Some kids will continue to give low ratings to everyone else' but their own.

But also, one thing done that helps give recognition to the pictures that stand out is the 'Member Photo' displayed on the front page. The site admins choose pictures to be displayed on it.
