Also, I know this is a rookie question but I have no idea about bindings and stuff. When I bought my Pollards the shop had attached the bindings before I went to pick them up (I ordered them over the phone) and it was only when my reactors broke that I removed the bindings for the 1st time. I noticed what seem to be 6 plugged holes under each binding (here is a photo of one such hole:http://www.geocities.com/knoxrichard/DSCN0143.JPG). Am I right in thinking that these are from where another binding was previously mounted? If so Im pretty pissed, the shop ripped me off!

I'm gonna give the bindings another try. I'm assured that there are dodgy ones around but others are fine...Just after i broke my binding I met a guy with the exact same set-up who's been riding his reactors all season with no probs. Mine bust in just over an hour. I still totally support Line though...once they iron out durability probs the binding will be sick.

If there are plugged holes, that definetly means they drilled something else onto the ski first.

your pics don;t work, upload them in the MISC section here on ns, then you can link them into the forum. Sounds pretty wack.

Then the fuckers will rue the day (to quote a famous british film). I'll get on the phone tomorrow and sort those cheating bitches out...no one skanks me for money!

Sorry about links not working...like i said i have no idea what im doing. Apparently I loaded too much on to my site or something!? I could email them to someone to post?

And my Pollards are this years (meant to be brand spanking new!!)

here are the working pics...looks to me as though the pollards were definitely drilled before Rich got 'em:

^nope, they never mentioned that the skis had been mounted previously, the fuckers just had the reactors mounted when I went to pick them up, obviously in an attempt to hide the holes. I'm gonna call these theives up tomorrow and let you know how i go. Only problem is that these were the last Pollards in the shop and pretty much the last ones available in the UK so I don't know what they can do, but I'm gonna have a good shout at them that's for sure.

Man I'm angry.

^ then just get your money back

if you paid for those skis and the shop told you or 'implied' they were brand new, then you need to go back to the store and tell them you want a new setup free, or ur gettin a lawyer. they had the intent to sell you a masked product, fraud :(

yep take them back dude...u will get ur money back...that wasnt right and what if u didnt want reactors what were they goin to say lol

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

Mine are already cracking, meaning they are going to die soon. But I still use them anyways because I'm poor and can't afford a new pair of bindings right now.

^^ i agree. I think Line will have learnt a lot from binding problems this year and next season's should be sick.

As for the bindings being 'heavy' and 'pointless' (^) while they may indeed be heavier than normal bindings all the weight is under foot and you can't notice it when you're riding. And they are far from pointless...the idea is amazing; if you own a lot of skis you only need one binding that can be easily changed from ski to ski, and the new technology they've developed will hopefully make the chances of injury even less.

It's such a shame that they couldn't get it quite right first time round , but then how often does anyone get anything right 1st time. The biggest shame though is that people on this site (the same people who are always talking about the importance progression etc) are rubbishing the idea before even giving it much of a chance. Im not saying that you should go out and buy this year's reactors because obviously there are some reliabilty issues, but at the same time don't go saying the idea is shitty and give line the opportunity of a 2nd chance next season when hopefully all these problems will be ironed out.
