this is my dog. one day I was walking around high as fuck (coke) and i saw this lil guy and I took him back to my apartment. He's been with me for 3 months now. He's so sick. he has killed 3 men that tried to break into my house and I'm so grateful that I found him. But he hates when me and my girl are goin anal cause she screams a lot and he is not a huge fan of screaming.

It's my opinion why the fuck do you care so much? It's an idea, it's criticism, it's an observation. Why the fuck do you think your opinion matters so much? You attack more than you think.

Do you seriously think you are superior to other animals? Necrophilia, murder, war, suicide, torture, Walmarts, Wendys, treadmills, and adderal. The human race is fucking amazing. We work on the same level as a dog licking its own asshole. The dog just isn't as dirty as we are.

It's my own opinion man, you can do whatever THE FUCK YA WANNA DO.

(and I encourage you to do so)

You just said pretty much everything I could think of. I have this awesome dog named Chaco who is an Australian shepard/ healer and he has tones of energy! We have to take him on walks in the forest all of the time and it still doesn't seem to be enough. The same goes for huskies, they have a mind of their own and need tones of space. Your best bet is a lab or mutt from the shelter. Good luck!

get a newfoundland!

they are water dogs, so they would be a ton of fun during the summer at that lake. plus, if you have any little siblings or cousins or something, they have a natural lifeguarding instinct so they could save a life, doncha know! and their coat would keep them warm during the summer.

Literally love him to death. He's my families second. They literally love everyone/everything. He loves swimming/the beach/ponds/long trail walks/playing in the snow but is also perfectly content stretched out in front of a fire.

I took my land lord's aussie into the dessert of Northern NM (Ghost Ranch) and we did a short hike, 2 hours. It was 90 on the mesa. She drank over a liter of water. When we got back to the car she slept the whole hour and a half drive. Until I stopped abruptly because a cow was in the road. She flipped out and did laps around the car for the last 10 minutes of the ride. When we got home she DASHED out in the national forrest and found the leg of an elk and dropped it at my feet. She is now just hanging out on the porch chewing on the bone and watching the hummingbirds fly around the desk.

When they are puppies they go crazy, around year 2 they calm down. My landlord's dog is two and is calming down. Last year should would just run and run and run and run. She would herd the horses and give the chickens a death stare lol.

One thing I hate is when people criticize and hate on other people's pets, if you don't like it don't look at it. Which is one of my mottos

YES. i came here just to post corgi. and pembroke over cardigan imo. they are the best dogs, really smart, they have a very human-like personality, and you can even put them in pictures for contests on ski forum websites to win you free shwag. trust me.

I just did some research and the only cam up with a few cons;

-They shed a lot for being somewhat small

-Prone to obesity (shouldn't be an issue if you give them needed exercise)

-They are very protective of their owners (which isn't a bad thing but may lead to barking at neighbors outside if they aren't trained not to)

-Very energetic which may lead to difficulties training as a puppy but gets better the older they get

-Very intelligent which is a good thing but may lead to difficulties if you're not strong willed

I've been looking into them more and more lately and really like them. It seems that if you can get through the puppy stages with these guys, that they make amazing dogs. Great dogs as far as being able to live indoors but enjoy and have enough energy for outdoor activities.

Overall, it seems that they have a bunch of positive traits and if you know what you're doing, you'll be fine.

Posting again because I've started a list of my potential future dogs:

-Golden Retriever

-Flat Coat Retriever

-Bernese Mountain Dog

-Australian Shepard

-Border Collie

-Friendly dog from nearby shelter

I like pretty dogs but I'm a sucker for saving them.

Eh, theres a line that has to be drawn when someone actually thinks a small and fucking annoying dog is the best fucking thing on the planet. And its hard to avoid them when my aunt/cousins have two small and annoying ones that they keep in the family's summer house.

Wut. I have had labs my entire life, have known tons of people with labs, and this is most definitely not true. They are not smelly or greasy to touch at all...

If you were to get a lab, get one that is a few years old because they take a while to train and calm down. I would recommend a pitbull, super nice dogs.

cairns are awesome! i love my little guy. even in his old age, he keeps up with our younger dog (husky) and all around loves life. i don't know about yours, but mine in a barker and that can get kind of annoying.

(double posting as i read the thread)

but beware the husky energy. I have a 3 year old Sibe that I love to death. They are great family dogs, loyal and smart as all get out. However, if you don't have a yard with space, or another dog or neighbor with a playmate, be prepared for your yard to look like a minefield that had a football game played in it.

If you're looking at Chinooks id also look at Akitas. Both are great dogs, just be ready to spend some money on large breed dog foods. Trainability shouldnt be too bad from my experiences. overall would be a great buy i think.
