Piccollo Express

Mmm, don't know if this is a good or bad thing. Good, more lifts, better distributation of skiers/riders. More access for lazy people, no hike out after skiing flute.

Bad.. The lazies now have access to terrain that few hiked to beforehand.. Oh well.

^Exacly. This isn't really a good thing... the more you need to earn it to get up and out of there, the fewer people do. Had I known this was coming I would've spent a bit more time on Whis this season...

so where is it gonna be located, pretty much in the middle of sun bowl to the top of it or around where the big sign is??? Yeah i'm not really for that either, too bad for the flute fresh tracks

agreed.

Lifts are cool. They mean less hiking.

If I'm gonna hike, I'm gonna do it O/B, where it's worth it.

this only really cuts out the flute hike/out not the hike up so doesnt cut out much, it just makes flute that much more visible to the public which i suppose for the mtn is a nice thing. on nice days it'll definitely increase traffic on flute and now piccolo will be tracked as well not that its a big face or anything. gotta figure the mtn was going to do it after opening up the flute terrain. dont know how they get 1000 more acres out of it though. Its all stuff we've been skiing for years.

15 mins up...hardly a hike man. those turns are worth every step. oh well, keep off flute. more pow for me.

Your a fucking retart if you say that, or maybe you just ski down flute's shoulder...

there is tons of shit on flute

not to mention how many MORE fucken retards are going to get lost down in cheamus (Sp? and lost in singings pass,

Not to mention, the location is flat, it's going to be a long redundant lift that gorbies will flock too,

if you can't walk to the top of piccollo you really shouldn't be up there, it's less than 300 steps to the top boot packing the ridge, and pic takes less than 10 minutes,

Let's thank interwest for another great addition to our mountain, because a gondola from the roundhouse to the blackcomb is such a great idea At $15 a one way pass,

its all a good thing as far as im concerend, it will equil less traffic on blackomb(the supirior mt) and it opens up whole new areas to hike.

flutes like... 10 turns tops... and its an hour and a half trip or something like that with going harmony-hike-ski-hike and all that.. im with kyle

i think its half good half bad.

the shit thing about flute is that if you hike it, everywhere else gets tracked, while you waste your time hiking for not heaps great stuff.

and dont give me shit about "but i can get freshies at 4pm"

I love how some people bash WB for trying to make this place more memorable for everyone, including you. I'm sure all the negative nancy's in here will still hike to the top of Picollo to make a statement.

Right...

if you really want to go ski in untracked stuff, you can go hike ob. it's inbounds. which means it's going to get skied out. if they can make certain experiences more enjoyable for certain people, that sounds good in my books. there's plenty of other places to go ski, and this will just force people to get more creative and find more areas uncommonly skied.

no to both ur conclusions... whistler is already the busier mountain. it'll just aleviate traffic on harmony while not opening up any new terrain. and after whistler gets tracked to crap ppl are going to head to blackcomb to catch some of the freshies there.

you know, when you're riding out on the burnt stew trail, all those trees on the right that are on the ski area boundaries and are so attractive will now be skiable. And tracked out quickly i'm sure. As of traffic, it will help harmony for sure, probably the busiest alpine chair on a saturday or powder day.

It will definitely help alleviate pressure on Harmony. There are so many people who just ski symphony bowl so this will help them. Fewer lines at both lifts equals more skiing for me. Yeah it will encourage more hiking into Flute, but overall I think this is positive.

nobody would complain about a lift up the blackcomb glacier, or even up between ruby and ... the one in the middle, but picillo is nothing, you'll still have to hike, i think many of you are missing the point, and the secret spots past the burnt stew would no longer be secrets,....

but sorry, you guys that have lived hear a season or two seem to know more than me, so i'll just shut my fat lip,

this 'inbounds gnarcore' crap is irritating.

u wanna be gnar go BC. as for in bounds, stop bitchin, everyones entitled to it. they pay as much as u for a lift pass. its just a game of the quick and the dead
