my wireless name is lepton, I have a poster of einstein on my wall and 4" binders full of schoolwork. I love physics and am hoping to get better marks in order to go to grad school. I must learn qed and the standard model before I die.
 
ya buddy... im a h/s junior and only recently realized i wanted to get a phd in physics, do you know what you are going to specify in like applied or theoretical
 
if i could, i would go back in time and study physics/math instead of economics. literally anyone who did anything of worth in economics had that background.

maybe i start a physics program now, but i am 23 now and in the last year of my finance master so idk.
 
definitely experimental physics/astrophysics. I'm just not smart enough for theoretical physics haha. Right now though i'm working towards a geophysics degree (I was previously pursuing a geology degree that FUCKED my GPA due to lack of interest).

Please for the love of... erm, metaphysics? Consider philosophy. A lot of your interest in physics may be driven from transcendental part of your physiology that you have yet to explore.

I was in the same place as you. I remember my first physics class. Physics was so fascinating to me! I later discovered Philosophy. I was intrigued by it. Philosophy asks and explores all the questions I dreamed of.

I highly recommend put your passion for physics through a rigorous test. It is a terrible thing to put so much time and effort into something, but to not get what you wanted out of it.
 
Chemical Engineering Major here. So Physics is pretty central to Chemistry and Engineering! Luckily I'm a nerd and find it fascinating to see how Chemistry and Physics work together.
 
One of my best friends was in second year condensed matter physics at the university of Waterloo, when he switched over to a business degree. He said he would be circling dots on graph paper for a decade before doing anything worth his time in the work place if he stayed with physics.

I told him to just get the damn degree because he was already honor roll, and a physics degree would get him any job he likes. That includes all the jobs that the business degree would get him. He should have even just minored in business.

Anyways, long story short, we are ascending to a new dimension soon apres 2012, so fuck school, lets party.
