For my physics final we have to pick a theme and find examples of all the concepts we learned this year. Obviously i picked skiing. who can help me find examples of...

two dimensional motion

vectors

torque(nosepress)

all three of newtons laws

collision analysis

mad karma is in order also

two dimensional motion: a jump

vectors: another jump

torque(nosepress)

all three of newtons laws:1. you slide down the hill til friction stops you. 2. F=ma gravity pushes you down a hill 3. pushing with your poles make you go faster.

collision analysis: landing

Though it might not be what you listed but,

You should find the coefficient of your skis acting on the snow

The speed of you traversing acrosss an active avalanche from someone watching you from the side.(like that boat equation). find the bearing and what not.

use your kinematic equations to see how fast your going when you ski off a cliff

Use momentum equations to see your speed when you hit a guy from behind or head on

why the earth doesn't seem to accelerate toawrds you when your coming off a cliff

just use all the kinematics and dynamics equations you can think of

bonus, find the gravitational pull between you and another skier

and thats all i can think of for now
