Physics egg drop project?

The content of the aforementioned post would concur with your observation on the sexuality of the pervious poster.

6 meters? Ours were dropped out of a news chopper from 300 feet. We were allowed to use things for drag though. Still 20 feet is nothing. I was in 4th grade.

screw you, both survived! lol but I ended up stabbing one with scissors while opening it.

Thanks for all the advice guys! +K to all who helped :)

as for my project, I took a large yogurt container and added a bunch of salty water (so eggs would float) and duct taped it together. Worked perfect

The concept for this is usually for light weight drops. You make a cone out of paper with a long tapered point. You should've learned about crumple and force distribution by now so the way it works should be pretty clear. The main issue you're probably thinking about is what if it doesn't land on the tip? To fix this you need to make the longest streamers possible and attach them at equal distances apart from each other. The more streamers you can fit the better. Also, putting a cross right below where the egg sits +() and having the spokes of the cross poke out make sure your egg doesn't break from side impact after the cone tips over.

Haha in 7th grade we had this project but i forgot to do it so in the morning i just taped a cradle to a parachute with paper and it worked and mine was the lightest so i won the contest. Other people spent so much time on it... My teacher was pissed

all you need is some paper and a little tape... roll a sheet of paper into a cone... put egg in the cone... then roll two small rods out of paper and stick them through the top of the cone as to hold the egg in... with enough sticking out to protect it when it falls... in cross pattern

drop the thing point down, so when it hits, the cone of paper will compact and it will just tip over. onto the "rod" that you made... looks stupid and doesnt sound like it would work, but seriously... go test it out.. it will work as long as you make the cone big enough, and drop it point down.

there is your bonus points for having the smallest setup... or petroleum jelly/ grape jelly works good too
