Quick question for all the PSpros, I've been following tutorials for photomanip projects on youtube and dedicated photoshop sites but I still feel like I've hit a wall, as if my pictures are never quite a crisp or beautiful as the ones feature in the tutorial, how did you guys keep getting better?

Illustrator uses something called "paths" wich uses more dense pixels I guess you would call it... thus the crisper image with illustrator when it comes to type and such.

Illustrator creates graphics based on mathematic equations, it doesn't have anything to do with pixels. It's called a vector graphic, and it's only good for graphics, not rendering smooth imagery.

OP, to produce a good image in photoshop, you have to start with a quality photo, both from a technical standpoint and artistic standpoint.

You can't turn shit into gold. There's really no way to sharpen an image in photoshop, the sharpening methods only go so far, basically enough to take a photo from 99% to 100%.

What are you trying to do? edit photos? Use photos to make composite images?

i know a good amount of tips and trick in photoshop if you want some help? lemme know if you got skype i could help maybe

Oh I'm not talking about making a picture more crisp it's just shit that I can't quite figure out yet I guess, being limited by my knowledge(?)

Here are some examples of my work
