Photoshop: CS5 file compatibility in CS6

alright so i use two different versions of photoshop; at wok i have CS5 and at home i have CS6. i emailed myself a PSD from work that was made in CS5 but when i go to open it in CS6 at home i get 'Could not complete your request because it is not a valid photoshop document." I'm also on a PC in both areas. any help would be appreciated as to why this is happening or how to fix it

Do you only have PS? It should load into LR or bridge without any issue, and then from there could be opened into PS or exported as a modified psd. Did you make sure to check the compatibility setting box when saving?
