Photography Work.

I thought I would let newschoolers know I'm selling work now through a

site called Imagekind. They make fine art prints, but also are capable

of producing high quality canvas prints in wraps. When purchasing a

photograph one pays for the base price for whichever size/paper/style

print requested from the site and also my markup price. This is really

nice because I would never have time to run around and make prints and

they really do print the most high quality stuff. All my images are

high resolution and have been post-processed and adjusted for printing.

I would really appreciate it if you guys at least checked it out. I've

been wanting to get this setup for a really long time, but I'm always

super busy with school.

CHECK IT OUT!

nice photos

Do you just have to simply sing up? or do you have to pay a initial fee?

how much of each sale do you get?

I currently have a free account. That means I am able to upload in one gallery. Other packages include multiple galleries etc. All my pictures have been uploaded at full non-compressed resolution (around 60 mb each), not sure on the limit, but they allow for hummmongous files so they can make huge prints.

I set my profit completely. They have a base price of roughly $10 for prints and $16 for canvas both of which increase when the size/quality of medium go up. My set profit is then added to this base price... then shipping...

yea, that's normal, but after post-production (many layers) it gets up there, also keeping them 16-bit. I shoot with a canon xti, stock lens (18-55) or a zoom (75-300).

a lot for the HDR ones, but other than that, normal curve work and clean up with a good sharpening or softening.

thats unreal man.. your doing really well. is much selling on that site? im considering starting one up

I haven't sold any yet, but i'm gonna start with friends and family. What's nice about the site is if your receiving a lot of traffic they will feature you as a favored artist. It's most definitely worth the free setup.

Thanks for all the compliments. I go to St. Olaf College in MN, i've considered photography as a career, but i'm studying physics instead.... :o

no, not really. i haven't been marketing too much. school is consuming but almost done. massive friends/family email should help and get some newer stuff up there. thanks for the support though.

nice photos, and i admire your ambition, but if you want to get serious about selling prints, what is stopping you from investing in a nice inkjet printer? i would never trust some company making money off my work to actually give a shit about the quality control of my prints, especially when every computer monitor displays images differently and printing takes time to get really nice. maybe im just jumping the gun and making assumptions here, but if you want your prints to be top notch, you have to look at them with your own eyes first.
