Personally on the first one I would have liked to see something truly in focus. Compositionally all of them need a little work but as a single subject focus they work well. I don't care if you use white or black borders but I find it funny that that is what everyone is getting on you about.

example of focus for the first one. If you would focus on the midground (being the boat) then the blured telescope would lead your eye to the focused midground and then if it was framed correctly your eye would then wander out to the background before coming back to the foreground to look at the blured object more to figure out what it was. AT least that is what my eye did when I looked at that picture.

What are you shooting with??

thats not that old, ive shot with a hassleblad from the 60's, still worked like it was new. i should buy a blad, screw digi.

Canon Rebel XT and Ill work on focusing on something. To the guy above me I bought them yesterday so i aint selling em

Its some good stuff. Good job having the horizon line not in the middle on the scope one. You have a pretty good sense of depth of field. I would look at taking some more interesting subjects. Always think about angles too. The first shoe one is a good example.

looking good, keep shooting and remember what interesting subjects are.

You've got depth of field pretty well figured out. So now don't worry about getting super shallow depth of field for a while and take some pictures of larger subjects. It'll force you to get creative with composition and angles and lighting.

Good stuff though man. I like the headphones photo.

Like the others said...You have DoF down. Work on your composition. Shoot some landscapes.

Also...You aren't shooting with anything high end I presume. If you like doing shots with shallow DoF, you want to get a better lens. The bokeh on the shot of the headphones is distracting to me. I'm kind of a photo snob, but others will notice it to if they know what to look for in a photo.
