well next year my high school offers a photography class, so everybody thinks yay, easy, awesome. but my sister took it a few years ago and she said the whole class was like weird girls, and they just learned about the camera and bad stuff and they never got to really pick what they wanted to photograph. like i prob wouldn't be able to do anything sports realated. so i was wondering, should i take the class anyway, cause i really wanna get into photography and it may be the only way my parents realize i like it and will be able to buy me a camera. or is there any other way like out of school things i could do.

Ya dude take the class anyways. You'll have assigments of what to take pictures of, so you wont be strapped with thinkin of what to photograph. Gettin into photography is wicked chill dude, you'll have so much fun.

ok thanks man, any other suggestions for starting, like what cameras to start looking into to, etc.

yeah its cool. plus, what would you rather do? right more essays, do more math problems, write more labs in science, or go and take pictures? i'd rather take pics, but thats just me. true, you may have some writing assignments, but in my class, they werent anything like an essay or something retarted like that, they were pretty ez.

if you wanna get into photography, take the class.

If you wanna be a good photographer, take the time to learn about the camera and theory, etc.

once you learn all that, then you can go out on your own and take however many sports pictures you like, the only difference is they will be appealing pictures because youll know what your looking for in a picture rather than just taking random pictures of skiers flying through the air

Most schools provide cameras, and a bunch of different kinds. I'd start off without a camera (if you already have one, then bring that to class). You'll be able to try different cameras in the class and I'd suggest taking all the info you get and pick a camera according to what you like.
