Photo view counter

so it used to be that every time a photo was viewed, its view number would go up by 1. now, a photo can get 15 upvotes, and still be at zero views... whats up with that? what part of the system got shitter that made it so views would be uncounted for hours at a time while the upvoting system works instantaneously? just curious

my guess is that these photos are getting upvotes directly from the homepage, which means they don't actually get the clicks which would add to the views count

well also if you viewed your a photo and refreshed the page another view would be added to the count... no longer happens or at least no longer happens instantaneously
