Maybe i'm just looking a this from a photographers POV, but why are some of the top-rated pics rated so high? Are you guys judging the skier, or the photo itself? Seems to me you should be judging the photo, but maybe i'm wrong. Just was noticing that most of the top-rated pics aren't all that great.
 
I think most of the photos there are pretty well shot, people are looking at the overall ill-factor
 
I just wish that the top rated ones weren't mostly pictures ripped of from other photographers. Seeing some people from this site instead of pros would be kind of nice.
 
There are alot of EPIC shots that never even make it into the TOP RATED section. So don't use the section as a judgement for anything.

There is a problem in the voting system where users can vote endlessly for their own picture and continually vote low for every other shot as a means to increase the rating of their own.

As a result, I've seen amazing shots posted on here by pro skiers get ranked low.

Hopefully the system can get reworked soon. But for now, don't use the TOP RATED section as an accurate measurement of anything.
 
I would really like it if people would rate my pictures, it seems that I'll get maybe 8 comments if I'm lucky, but never a rating. There's not really a good incentive to get people to rate short of giving them a post for it, though.
 
I don't think it necessarily has to be a good picture to get a rating, I would just like some feedback. I know most of my pictures aren't that great, but it's really hard to know what to improve on when nobody will say anything about them.
 
I think your pictures are dope, I'll start rating them.

Yeah some of my favorite pics get rated like 3. because some people that don't like me go through all my pictures and rate them all 1's. But yeah, I think only the PROS that entr their own pictures should get in there, cuz the others really are just rip offs. I don't get how you vote on your own pictures tho> How do you do that?

i think this is an example of what ur talkin about, its an 8.85 i think....good hit and nice jump...yes...top rated pic though?

and to get to top rated, look on the right hand side when ur in pics where it says quick links, its thef irst one
 
Go to Media, then Pictures (through the menu at the top)

Then you'll find the 'Top Rated' section under the Quick Links on the right.
