Photo people question

You know those action shots where you get like 12 shots of a skier coming over a jump, all on the same picture (like in the arc of their jump) how do you make them? (and what are they called?)

they're called sequences. You can do them from videos, by taking every few frames. Otherwise, somebody else will know.

Get a camera(photography) to shoot at high speeds, 3 frames per second or higher, 5 with a canon 30d. Get the pictures and piece them all together on photoshop, CS3 automatically does it and its wonderful.

I think cs2 can do it too, but not nearly as well as cs3, there was a thread somewhere about stitching together sequences in cs3 showing the diff between cs 3 and 2, it looked seamless in 3. Pity that shits so expensive

link? I just made one in cs2 of me jumping off a cliff, but I did it manually because I didn't feel like finding out the real and proper way of doing it. i think there was a thread on tgr but I wouldnt know what to search.

but what happens if you move the camera a bit when you're taking the shots for the sequences.. it would mess up the shot

It does mess up the shot, you're best using a tripod. If you do move the camera then you can get a rolling sequence but then the image get's an irregular shape.

you can do it with pretty much any camera, just some shittier ones will only take like a max of 3 or 5 frames, and their further apart. but with any average camera, try to find burst mode, ususally its a thing of like 3 rectangles overlaying eachother

you can make them in paint if you want, but you have to open a bunch of different windows, just cut out around the person and paste them all onto 1 pic, and line it up using shit in the background or try to match it with the color gradient

its called a sequence what you do is take a video or photos (at frame rates) from the same spot and then get a beginning frame and past it all together every other frame or so, oh and use a tripod

i donno if that made alot of scence but ya

yup you guys got it right with the burst mode.. the Nikon D300 coming out this november can do 8 frames a second in burst...pretty sick...also 51 focus points..yup 51!! and colour tracking...just thought those into photography would like to know...

Also if you guys who are just learning or want to learn new things, go to www.dpchallenge.com and go to learn and find out sweet shit to do..
