Since nobody has started it up again I'm taking the initiative.
The topic for this week is SELF PORTRAIT.
I know it's already been done, but the goal is to get as much participation as possible, and there is nothing easier than a self portrait. It's as simple as turning the camera around in your hands and clicking the shutter if it needs to be. Get creative with this. Pulling is discouraged, but if you have to pull to enter, feel free to do so. This needs to get rolling again. Since I'm starting the contest, I won't enter, so here's a self portrait I took last week to get the ideas flowing.

Rules: -you may post 1 PHOTO ONLY
-you have TWO WEEKS to capture your photo
-no hating on photos, constructive criticism only
-we will have a voting thread to determine the top 5, then we will vote again to find the winner
-post your own photos (no stealing! You will be banned from the contest)
-click on embedded photos before judging, NS sucks the life out of them
-winner chooses the next topic
-you cannot win 2 times in a row, you can win twice, just not in a row
-PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go out and shoot! Do your best to not pull any files because it goes with the topic. We’re looking to have this be an active photography contest.

haha *experimenting with my DSLR the day after i got it.

OP, can i change my submission if I take a better picture within the next two weeks?
 
Yea for sure. Just make it clear that it's a replacement for the original so I don't get confused in the voting.
 
Throwing this into my threads, and I dont think resubmissions should be allowed. Pulling with the intent to maybe resubmit shows you really dont care, and its way more work on the person putting this together.
 
will most likely pull from a photo a shot on a trip during the last self portrait themed contest
 
I don't think it shows you don't care. It shows you want to enter buy aren't sure you have time to work on it. Pulling is better than half-assing a shot because you don't have time to work on it. The goal right now is to gain as much interest as possible. Rules will get stricter after the contest has a solid base.
 
I actually like the blur on your head, I thought you were headbanging during a long exposure shot. It looks sick, nothing wrong with bumpin it.
 
Would anyone suffer and internet heart attack if I posted 2 pictures to help me choose the best one? They are both similar, but this is my first time entering one of these and I'm looking for critique and knowledge more than an electronic trophy.

I defiantly like the first one better, you can see more of yourself then the second one.

Completely irrelevant to the thread but I now have a grudge with those trains, I was on one of the ones that got stuck back on June ninth.
