alright, imo the first one was a success, so we'll continue it
first off, major props to *Fujative* for winning the last contest, everyone can give him an e-round of applause, his photo was awesomeso because he won he gets to choose the next topic and provide sample pics, but first,
the roolz:-you may post 1 PHOTO ONLY, i know it's hard but try to edit down-if your photo strays from the topic, explain why-no hating other people's photos, constructive criticism only-no voting for your own photo-we will have a voting thread to determine top 5, then we will vote again to find the winner-post your own photos, please don't take other people's-click on embedded photos before judging, NS drains the color from them-winner chooses the next topic-you cannot win 2 times in a row, it is fine to win twice but for example fujative could not win this contest, but he could win week 3, this is just to change things up
now, onto this contest, this is from fujative:
Portrait; This can be taken in a few different ways. First off, what is a portrait? A picture of a person, picture of your self, picture of an animal? What makes something a portrait. You decide that. However this can be taken in another direction. What about a portrait of your self? Without being anyone in the photo? How would you show someone a picture of yourself, without anyone being in it? Tricky. Take it how you want to peruse it. Have fun with it. However if someone does do something crazy, you might want to explain yourself or write a statement in order for the viewer to understand better.

These are two portraits a did about a year ago. It can be as straight forward as this, or can be taken in a more "artistic" direction.

If you guys don't think it qualifies as a portrait (and you provide logical reasoning why it doesn't) I'll post another one.

this was taken at a local elementary school annual "hoe down," which explains why the girl is dressed like she is haha.

2 flashes? nice. I dig it, but I'm not a fan of the guys face expression, however I don't think it would have the same reaction without that expression... if that made any sense. Nice.
 
woah, at first glance i hated it but after taking more than 1/2 a second to look at it thats a pretty sweet picture
 
3 actually. One camera right, one left for rim and one between his legs to light the wall. It was his senior picture. Funny kid haha.
 
This is a photo of my Filmer Forrest Miller, It is a long exposure shot taken on a nikon d200.

Nice, but it just bugs me that the person looks like he is "floating" ie, because he is wearing black pants against a black background. Looks good, but it would be way better it you could see the detail in his pants.
 
I would say no, however because 1. you are the first, and 2. because I don't feel like being a dick, go for it, but that is it. Only submit one photo, one try.
