Photo Contest Week 2 FINAL VOTING ROUND

So he's writing messages back and forward to himself? Wow, this website has reached a new low. I wish I had that much free time on my hands.
 
ughh, this contest got lame quick. no_steeze feel free to remove my photo from the top 5 and give the 6th place person a chance to be voted on if you want. thanks for organizing this but there's too much bickering and bullshit involved in this now. it was fun, but turned stupid.

props to whoever wins, hopefully photo #1 takes the top spot.
 
You are dumb. There are no aliases that voted. A low post count does not mean alias, it just means they don't post as much useless bullshit as most other people do. And the point of the contest was to submit and vote for good photos, so how exactly was that point missed?
 
this is just getting dumb... to whoever felt the need to start talking shit about other peoples photos all I can say is thank you for missing the point of these "contests." I know you are all bonered up over winning 4 karma points for having the coolest photo and all, but fucking relax. The gangster photo has a lot of potential but IMO it was poorly executed with bad framing and lighting.

You can talk shit or constructively criticize on my work all you want but at least have a legit reason behind why you think it could be better. Saying "I could do that on my cellphone" or "anyone with a fisheye can bump the saturation and do that" are retarded arguments. I promise you can't take a picture NEARLY that sharp on your cellphone, click on the full size and count her nose hairs, because you can.

As for anyone being able to take that shot, sure they can. They can't take if of my dog and capture the same moment that I did. Photography isn't always about setting up shots and planning and setting things up perfectly. Spur of the moment shots can often times catch either incredible happenings or good memories. I posted the shot I did because I felt it reminded me of a great time, it showed personality and IMO it was properly exposed, timed and shot.

Please let us continue the photo comp and stop the flame war.
 
fuck guys this is getting out of hand, stop the flaming, i thought NS was mature enough to handle a photo contest but you guys are proving me wrong with this. vote for the photo you think best expresses the topic and that's it, don't go cheating to get your photo more votes, don't bash other photos and say they're oversaturated when they're super sharp and funny etc, and don't hate on everyone just because you can
this is a photo contest, not a political thread, so there shouldn't be tons of arguments. personally the pose and the lighting on 4 annoy me, but that's just me, i know nothing, but that's besides the point, stop hating
i'm ending the voting tomorrow at midnight EST and i hope you can keep the maturity level up so that we can finish this without me having to just end the whole thing. whether you're cheating to get more votes or just hating, i don't care, just stop
 
instead of having a whole voting thread, just let the winner from the previous week (who chose the category) pick the winner at the deadline. Thats how it used to be done in graphic design/photo wars in the two cults.... kept categories quick and moving every week...
 
that sounds like a decent plan, also keep it to if you arn't going to be constructive, dont talk about peoples shots, this isn't a professional photography board and it shouldn't be treated as such

that being said... new contest starting soon?
 
well either lets make a new post or let last weeks winner pick his fave and lets keep the ball rolling... this gives me something to try and get some sweet new shots in styles i wouldn't normally do this summer

no_steeze are you sticking to the rule of the previous week's winner pick's the next week's winner? seems to be more fair and foolproof that way

any idea when the next week's contest starts?
 
well it's always been the plan to vote but yeah, in the event of a tie i asked last weeks winner to pick the winning photo
it was photo 1, i PM'd BamBam and as soon as he gets back to me I'll start up the next contest. if he doesn't get back in a few days then the runner up picks the next topic but the new contest should be up in a few days
 
excellent, are you going to enforce the rule of having a minimum post count of 100 or 500 or something in order to vote?
