Phones Without Headphone Jacks

Have you used them? How are they?

They're pretty good, although they aren't very low profile, so no goggles with them, but they're great for running and skateboarding. The ear pieces are foam so you can compress them like ear plugs, so that they expand in your ear a little bit, and their battery last for about 6 to 6 1/2 hours

Just ordered the iPhone 7, 256GB. I do not like the idea of the wireless headphones, but will certainly give them a try. If I hate them, I'll just use the adapter.

The only plus side is that it comes with earbuds that plug into the lightning cable.

Admittedly, I usually use my ear buds 90% of the time, mostly just for phone calls. But if im skiing and my wireless headphones die and i cant plug the aux in cause i forgot the adapter, i'd be pissed.

I just ordered a 7 plus 128gb, comming off of a 6s plus, I'm sure I will miss the head phone jack in the beginning, but I honestly can not remember the last time I charged my phone and had headphones in, the only time I can think of that I will miss it will he sux ports in my friends cars that don't have Bluetooth, but the adapter is 9 bucks and the phone comes with one so I will most likely just keep one in my backpack, and an extra one at home or something like that. On another note the camera looks insane! I'll post some photos on this thread after I get it !

but on the other hand, I think if ever company moved over, it would work. just use something like usb-c instead of lightning. it's much more universal and has a plethora of other benefits. plus getting rid of the 3.5mm will greatly improve audio quality coming from phones.

I don't think anyone would use USB-C for audio only. I could see it for charging and data, but not much else. Everything is moving to wireless anyway. Soon inductive charging will be in everything from cars to tabletops, and you can already transfer huge amounts of data between devices with only a password and a good internet connection.

I wish apple would've replaced the lightning cord with wireless charging (only problem is wired data transfer), or even a MagSafe cable (like on MacBooks, just smaller) for the iphone and left the headphone jack on there. The fact that i need to buy an adapter that will probably put me out $50 is bull, but I like apple more than android. just personal preference.

I'm just gonna leave this here...

Doesn't really bother me. My car uses bluetooth and I mainly use bluetooth headphones. If I really need use of an auxillary, I'll buy the $10 adapter.

I haven't used my headphone jack in months.

I have a lifeproof case on my iPhone, and carrying that adapter around with me just spells "lost".

I have a variety of Bluetooth headphones and speakers, and I love them. All the Outdoor tech gear (shoutout for great stuff), has amazing sound quality, and battery life that seems to last forever.

And when it comes to adapters, I have the ODT adapt in my car for my radio adapter.

Not the biggest letdown when it comes to new electronics. It's just the way she goes.

Bluetooth seems to be getting better and better with signal strength.

The wireless Airbuds look incredibly stupid, and far too much money for what they are.

I'm not really surprised at this. apple's whole MO is making shit that breaks/gets lost as easy as possible, so now people can buy their expensive headphones and lose them like pocket change.

the only apple product I've ever owned for more than 2 years without it completely shitting the bed is an ipod nano from 2007.

Apple is cancer. I'll just be chilling out with my droid and $10 skullcandy earbuds while all the sheeple drop hundreds on Apple's accessories and bullshit. The IPhone 7 is still going to sell like wildfire because society is a bunch of robotic minds.

The wireless headphones is a just a god damn scam, Apple are fucking scums in trying to squeeze every dollar out of you. They have technology to make waterproof, and screens nice enough not to get fucked up, but obviously they won't do that because they lose profit. Funny how every company comes out with the same thing at relatively the same time? Thats because they all have the technology to make changes, they put pressure on other companies to make a bold move. Meanwhile, I'm chilling with my GS5 while all you robots are hooked on iPhones that haven't changed in 6 years since the iPhone 4.

Word, this wireless charging, shatterproof screen, and ridiculous battery life have sure been nice for the last four years. I wonder when apple will catch up lmao.

how mad are you that you're too broke for an iPhone

Not mad at all because they are not good phones. Did I somehow not make that clear in my previous post? Ignorant fuck.

So you admit that you're too broke for an iPhone

I mean this guy's got a point. One of the only features that surpasses an android at this point is an iPhone's price

So what you're saying I'd Iphones are only better because they are more expensive, even though they aren't as good with anything else?

The way I see it is apple removing the headphone jack is like the quad, apple obviously sees where the future is heading and wants to be leading the way, basically everyone knows the quad is going to be the norm someday, but now the few/1 person that has landed it (skiing at least) is standing out. And Apple wants to be first on that future train

I can't see quads becoming the norm, unless 120 booters become the norm, which probably won't happen.

I'll probably be proved wrong in a couple years though...

Except apple isn't first. The moto z has the excact same design and people shit on it for having to use an adapter in situations like wanting to charge the phone or use 3.5mm headphones.

Apple may not be the first but how many people do u know with motos vs how many people you know with iPhones? Apple is definitely the bigger of the two and will make a bigger impact

You're definitely right about them being bigger, however my point is that it's already been done and people didn't buy that phone for that exact reason. Sales of iPhones has already been declining as of late and I think this will polarize a lot of the consumers who just want simplicity in their technology, something that has always been a hallmark of Apple's products.

Apple, in my opinion, has been on the decline since Steve died. They came out with the apple watch well after samsung had already established itself as the leader in the smart watch category. It left the ipad hanging with no real noticeable upgrades until the microsoft surface came out and it decided to add a portable keyboard to compete. The iphone 6 took on the shape of a a larger screen and began looking more droid like.

There's seems to be a long line of just "keeping up" by apple in the past couple years. They simply aren't leading the pack like they used to be. Even their marketing has taken a significant downturn imo. However, they still dominate the market, but if things continue in this trend I don't think they will in 10 years.

Your points are really valid, but if you think back to when the iPhone was announced, Apple makes this crazy thing no one ever thought possible, and now it's the norm today, Bluetooth headphones are already being more widely used, and although I don't agree with Apple airpods (I loose too many headphones and would never buy them) I do think they are starting something, people will complain at first but eventually we will forget and not care like when Apple switched from the 40 pin to lightning, it sucked because everyone had to buy new accessories and cords etc, but now it's the norm and I would never go back
