From what I gathered on the reddit thread, this would be an engineering nightmare and will definitely not happen in the near future.

That said its an interesting concept, but the guy completely disregarded the whole "how do we make this" aspect.
 
Compared to the iPhone I like it but the iPhone kinda blows. There are many better phones than it. That being said I feel like the whole basis of it being that it would be cheaper because you could just switch out a part will not work. Those pieces look like they will break very easily and defeat the purpose
 
this may be the dumbest idea to ever catch on, there is no way it could be built and building it like he said with all the major companies making different parts for the same device there is no way like apple would just conform to that shit, because while everybody is trying to make the newest and best "block" other companies will just continue to make the classic style phones and they will be much better because of experience, theres just no logic in this, just a clean video so dumb internet browsing twenty somethings will make this into some sor t of cult following and jeesus fucking die
