Phone battery

When I’m doing something in the winter my batteries die pretty fast. There any tricks to keeping them alive longer. Bringing a power bank is kinda painful.

Get an old Motorola phone. I remember in high school my phone battery would last for 3-4 days on a full charge ahah. Times have changed

Treefort- put your phone in- put treefort in jacket- treefort stays next to warm body- phone stays warm- also holds my pot and money- Thanks treefort :)

I would always put a hand warmer in between my case and phone to keep it warm, worked pretty well although I think my phone actually got too hot one time

I had the same problem so I quit using my phone on the mountain. Went to an ipod for music and use my GoPro for my camera, besides when I would take my phone I never had any service where I was skiing anyways so now I just leave it in the car.

People skied for a long time before cell phones existed doggy, even 10 years ago we weren't skiing with phones.

Been skiing Meadows on Hood the last few seasons, eastside of the volcano has horrible cell service. Skiing inbounds you can always get a patroller easy enough if homie gets hurt, back country I have some Kenwood radios I use, just prepare for what conditions I am riding. The world did still function before everyone had cell phones, lol.

well damn. I sat through an argument like this in high school where a girl ended up storming out of the room. I didn't mean we NEED cell phones but I was just saying they really do make life a hell of a lot easier especially in a situation where you could just sit & make a call to get some one out of danger

Delete social media apps, they are the largest drain

I wouldn't necessarily say that directly, screen-on time is what kills your battery, which is the effect of social media apps, phone always on.

Push notifications, chat bubbles, always on mic, and misc background services all fuck your battery without the screen even being on.

Try this: don't touch Facebook app for 1 day, even shut the app entirely in multitasking. Now 1 day later check battery usage in settings. It will read "Facebook: 29%"

That's definitely not normal at all. If i don't touch my phone (pixel 3) i use like 1% every hour, i understand how apps work and such, what phone are you using? My phone has a function that suppresses apps when you don't use them, but pretty sure most newer phones/operating systems have this.

Older phones were getting used way less than today.

Get a case for it OP and or throw a handwarmer on it if you're having battery issues on the reg.

I don't use social media so don't have this issue any longer
