k, so i was lookin down the forum and i keep seeing posts claiming that bands that ARENT Phish are the greatest, so im just here to put them in their place.

phish is real good but they arent the best. their songs dont really have any meaning. i think that if they had more meaning in their songs they'd be soo much better. i mean dont get me wrong, i love phish but i think there is a lot better music out there

there songs are so tight. Incredible melodys always followed by intense jams that are so complex i dont try to figure them out, there lyrics are always clueless zen riddles and are really fun to think about when your blazed 'have you seen the joker or heard his sad tale of the kids under the carpet, and the purple humpback whale - bathtub gin'

Phish is the best band ever, skodeo is lucky for seeing them so often

Phish the greatest. They are sooo awesome. I am going to 'it.' I am kind of glad their songs are mostly pointless...just because it gives them personality and makes them funny. So, i kinda like that their lyrics are pointless, but usually i don't like pointless lyrics...but with Phish i do.

I love Phish. I was raised on Phish, my parents are huge phish heads and my mom went to college with Trey, he used to come over for dinner every once in a while and stuff. I saw Trey Saturday at jazz fest.

Trey's parents live near me in Princeton and go to this restaurant all the time near my house, and gave free concert tickets to my friend once.

the rolling stone article was good, but not the best. It seemed like the writer was really emphasizing the fact that they do a lot of drugs though.

when they are together they love touring. mike said it himself something about the perfect life is playing music every night hanging with your friends and visiting new places

i thought it was a good article, but the drug thing was really over emphasized (Burlington, young and on drugs.) Come on. They have obviously matured musically, and i think that they were focusing alot on there past. all in all a good article, but id def change some stuff it it

in this case they wanted the story line to be: Phish does a lot of drugs.. which is a horrible story line.

does anyone know why Phish doesn't play at festivals like Bonnaroo and Sierra and telluride...is it because they themselves have such a huge following or something and don't need other bands with them...i have always wondered that...

The real reason is that a festival like bonnaroo doesn't take on Phish is because simply too many people would go. It would be insane and intolerable.

phish has already made a name. bonnaroo is for the groups that havent made a name yet (in the big community that is) its a time for them to express themselves to others that normally wouldne know of them.

 
the dead, neil young, the flaming lips, and mike gordon played bonnaroo. And bo dylan and tom petty was sheduled for NE. They have already made names for themselves though, but maybe more people want to go see phish.

ya seriously I don't think you explained it very well. Pretty much all artists at bonnaroo have a good name for themselves or they wouldn't be there in the first place. Sure there are some unknowns but the majority are not.

yeah, Bonnaroo def. is for people who have already made it big.

i think its because Phish has such a huge following...i mean they play at the most northeastern part of the country and get 70,000 people to come. If phish played at bonnaroo too many people would come.
