when i went up to camp, i was talkin to philou. he was ridding the big versions of next years 1260s. Salomon wanted more European Riders so they picked up candide and dropped philou. u may already know this, but just shows how gay Salomon is. i would never buy a ski cause not enough americans ski on um.

Okay I think that was like the 17th time this subject has been brought up. I don't know why everyone is down on Salomon about this though, they're in it to make money and they probably saw an oppourtunity to grow as a result of branching out further into the european market. Sure it came at the expense of a really good rider (and a pretty nice guy too) but that's the way the business works. I doubt any ski company's primary goal is to push the sport of newschool skiing, they are in business to make money. Try not to forget that.

philou was dropped by salomon, but not because they didnt want him anymore, he was dropped because he wanted too much money, when he is old and not progressive anymore, it isnt worth salomon to pay all that money when they could give it to candide instead, and candide is obviously one of the most progressive riders out there right now.

Iwannastomp- theres a bigger market for skis in europe I believe, so theyre obviously going to go for the money.

i think philou should just swap with candide and go ski for dynastar, they could make him a pro model. oakley should just make him skis or he should keep painting.

 
Salomon gave him the boot for abunch of reasons, he wasn't cooperating which isn't a bad thing, Salomon is gay. Anothe rhes was caught riding triple x's and Salomons contracts with pros is if the get caught riding other shit, your in deep shit. So Philou quit/was fired form salomon.

I rode the lift with him in whistler. He said he just called jay lev up and asked for another pair of skis after jay lent him a pair of skis earlier in the season. Hes not riding or line yet. He just said he searchign around and seeing what diffrent comppanys have to offer him. On another note if you wanna laugh your ass off watch for philiou in generation x 3 ( its a japanes ski move)

Europe is where the money is. Europe is where Salomon is based out of. Europeans are more dedicated to skiing and the new trends. Why do you think so many companies pull out of the states and only sell in Europe? From a business standpoint it makes perfect sense to add more european riders, especially a rider with the talent of Candide's. It sucks that they dropped Philou but that's just the way it is.
