I was doing Spanish homework today writing in Spanish what I would be doing when I'm 35 which is 19 years away for me and I started thinking about where skiing will be and what skis will look like in 19 years? Deep thoughts!!

yeah that kind of thought really does strain your mind, but im not sure of the philosphy behind it.

yea, its not too philisophical, but...

skis will probably will have maximum abilities to do what you want them to do. some will bend like crazy and others wont. they'll be erganomically (spelling) designed too.

nah it wont be rocket boosters. skis will have tiny motors on them and be like snow mobiles. or there will be some really sweet wax that will allow u to just slide right back up to the top

 
I think many ski companies will covert to a format so that the ski you pick is designed right for you. Like it is custom based on your hieght, wieght, ability, what terrain you like, if you have a bad back or not, if you have bad knees or not. THings like that.

I'm not sure skis will change too much. just like the designs and stuff. but it won't be too much out of the ordinary. i think people will be going HUGE though because there will be progression over the next years. skiing will be bigger than snowboarding. snowboarding will die

it has changed the ski world so much.

i think that skis will be able to change stiffness for difrent riding situations (spelling?)

 
Who knows maybe there wont be any snow in 20 years. or even an earth? I say wait and see

Thermoskates are supposed to be the next big thing in ice skating. It's a blade that warms up to 4 degrees celcius to reduce friction and allow for faster speeds, more accute radius, and less physical strain on the skater. I could see many advanced skis having this sort of technology in their edges in 19 years.

powderdream, they already have skis that do that. Head makes skis with the Intelligence System, theres a microchip in the ski that can tell by the vibrations in the ski and how its flexing what type of terrain you are on, and adjust the stiffness accordingly

everything moves in cycles. at some point hitting a peak and then regressing. i think technology will be the same way. things can only get so easy. before long life will be simplistic once more.
