Philip Seymour Hoffman, dead of overdose

If you want to waste your time, crying over someone you didn't know who passed away then by all means waste away.

this thread turned into a shit show because people are mad at each other for caring/not caring about his death. you all are pathetic

You don't have to know someone to feel an emotional connection to them. A lot of people's lives are based heavily on things like film and music and to see someone they looked up to in those industries pass is a big deal. I don't really get fucked up over celebrities dying, but you're a fool to not attempt to empathize with people who do.

...implying that the mere seconds it takes to empathize an industry figure's death is somehow less productive than telling people on the internet how they should feel.

If being edgy is not knowing, or caring, about which pro skier is doing what with whom, consider me the edgiest motherfucking 10 year old who ever lived. My apologies for not following the "pro" scene of every hobby I partake in.

it's not the not-knowing part that im referring to as edgy, it's the taunting about it. reading your posts is like watching a daniel tosh standup "oh boy that was purposely offensive to some people! i'm so bad"

If kids on here get so riled up and think I deserve to die for not knowing who some random skier is, you're damn right I'm gonna taunt them haha.

i have know idea who that is. it'd be sad if you knew him, but overdose happens all the time.

Lol

It's a slow morning at work with all the snow outside, so I guess you can have what you wanted:

No, I don't work at a hospital. Not anymore, at least. I worked in the EC for about a year and a half. The drug-seeking addicts that come in looking for Dilaudid are some of the most miserable people I have ever encountered. They are not loving life. They are faking illnesses and injuries, and sometimes even going so far as to make themselves actually sick just to get a dose of IV pain meds, which we won't even give them half the time! Haha. It's sickening. The worst part, though, is that most of them think we're completely oblivious and ignorant. They think we believe their poor sob stories about chronic back pain, fibromyalgia (hahahaha), and other blatant bullshit. They yell, complain, refuse tests that would prove they're not sick, waste 10 hours laying in a bed trying to get drugs, and then leave AMA when they get bored.

So, that's cool that you went to Princeton, I guess, even though I don't believe you. I suppose it's also cool that you openly admit you are a drug addict. To each his own. Are you smarter than me? Well, no...but at least you tried!

Never understood this line of thought? If you're wanting/needing opiates, why waste your time trying to get them in the hospital? Why not just hit the block and cop some dope? Same damn thing in the end anyway....and 10000000x easier/cheaper....

I assume that about 5% of patients he has to deal with walk in and try to say they have a kidney stone. go to the bathroom for a urine sample, and prick there do finger and put a drop of blood in it, happens way more than you would would think. Also, some of the dumbest people I've ever met go to Ivy League schools.

I honestly am having trouble deciding if you're a troll or a huge fucking idiot.

On one hand, you only have like 10 posts. This makes me believe you're using an alias because you're too much of a pussy to post your opinions on your real account, and are posting just to get a rise out of me. I'm fine with that. It's not like I have anything better to do right now than reply to your posts.

On the other hand, each of your 10 posts has made you look progressively more retarded. If your posts are supposed to be serious, then I conclude you are most definitely a fucking idiot.

Well Mr.Cool's new account, I'll say it again some of the dumbest people I have ever met go to Yale, Princeton, (i've only met about 10 kids from Harvard and they weren't too bad) but by far the dumbest people I've ever met are drug attics living out in Breckenridge. The fact that you seem so accomplished and happy that you're in addict makes me believe you're not as smart as you claim. also everyone on my mom side of the family goes to Princeton and I'm sure if I asked you some questions about the school you would not be able to answer them. What is the go to pizza place at your school, and the question you wont be able to Google what's the so called underground hookah bar by your school?

Ohhh, I get it. You're one of those "street smart" people, aren't you? Though you may seem like a complete fucking moron to the average observer, they are all just ignorant to your supreme intelligence.

Be sure to keep me in your thoughts when you make it big, broman. You're shaping up to be the next Richard Feynman.

His death might not mean a ton to the freeskiing community, but he was an accomplished and inspiring person to millions I'm sure. show some respect..?
