I've heard a lot of rumors lately about Poirier getting picked up by various companies, the last one I heard was Elan of all companies. That could well be true I just can't believe it, probably because I'm not really down with Elan at all. Anyway, the reefer has me rambling again but all's I want to know is if anyone knows anything substantiated about Poirier getting signed.

 
wtf would it matter if he gets picked up by elan. in europe, elan is a hardcore company that is one of the best skis out there.

that's cool man but in North America it sure as hell seemed like they just jumped on the bandwagon like a lot of other companies.

 
maybe Europe. But over here, Elan isn't exactly what we consider quality product for NS. Not too many big names for that company

yea, i think CTripper is right, thats what i heard too. levinthal must be a pretty chill guy to do something like that. and if he was using the same pair of lines all season, thats gotten show that line's skis have drastically improved. 2 years ago, a big guy like philou would break their skis in a day.

You know something that would really make me applaud? A guy gets stuck in quicksand, then sinks, then suddenly comes shooting out, riding on water skis. How do they do that?
 
Philou is riding for Elan... they have dropped lots of cash into R&D and have produced a semi decent twin... They wanted a high profile rider, so they picked up Philou... believe what you want... but this is the definite truth. and if you want to think otherwise then eat a dick and beleive what you want.

 
Um elan, the company got some guy to ski on mt everest, do you think they give a shit about park and pipe. But its possible

actually levinthal gave philou some pair of skis...he use like 3 pair of 1260 and 2 pair of the fat twin....i mounted his binding on those line skis...

i remeber seein a pick of him with skis painted all black with 2 oakley stickers on both sides.. i think they were the 1260's.. i tried the new lines.. they are a huge improvement..i tried to scratch them and i coudlnt..

Well Elan sounds like a company that tries to go big, such as being the first to have their skis used on Mt. Everest. Maybe they're gonna try and go big by scorin Philou. I know that Elan has a shitty reputation for jib skis, but i also know that they are able to produce a nice jib ski if they wanted to, so we'll hafta see exactly what happens.

Ben Murphy, Australia's top 'newschooler' (x-games medalist...etc....) is sponsored by Elan. Or at least was. They are throwing money into the sport, maybe just not in Canada and the US, where the market is already dominated by other companies.
