Petition to have an over 18 forum!

NS really needs a public forum that is limited to members that are over 18 years of age. I can't handle all the real idiots and /b/tards anymore.

Although it would be nearly impossible to determine the age of every NSer, it's a nice idea.
 
there are plenty of older kids that are annoying to

and plenty of kids who are under 18 that are helpful and useful contributes, and people enjoy their posts.

i think the contributors forum is good enough, most people that are annoying or idiots won't be old enough or wont care enough to contribute. lets start back up the contributors forum
 
You have to certify that your 18 under fear of penalties such as deat or worse, banishment from the newschoolers kingdom in heaven
 
Like said above there are members under the age of 18 that contribute positive info to the site and some over 18 that do nothing but crap....And there would be no way to regulate it.
 
Everyone who wants to be in post their facebook or the equivalent and a photo of their selves and we judge if correct idk. Post license with sensitive info blacked out except for DOB
 
It's to weed out the 12 year olds and the zomg i smoked weed today, i smoked weed and went skiing, i smoked laced weed, my mom said i have to go to my room for not doing my chores, those kinds of threads
 
i agree. just because some people are under 18 doesnt mean that they dont know what they are talking about. I myself know several kids under 18 that are very knowledgable and they happen to know quite a bit about skiing
 
You don't even have to do this for porn sites. Nobody's gonna want to go through all that effort just to post on a fucking skiing messageboard.
 
I'm not saying you have to do it each time, just a one time deal where the site stores who has done it and etc. Kinda like the agreement you have to click in order to sign up from the get go
 
Yeah, he never sugar coated it but once he got banned and came back as wambat his posts are just laced with this entitled sort of air.

Like, I PM with him sometimes and he is a very decent guy but sometimes he just snaps too fast.
 
i agree with ohmybosh. there isnt any way to prove someone's age (it would be too much work to have everyone send in some kind of verification proving their age)
 
The only reason I would ever see this work is by implementing the new forum slowly.. Like start out with an update to the website that requires everyone to set their age. Then first after 2-3 months without any info on creating a new forum create the 18+ forum.

If the kids see no advantage to putting their age above 18 they won't do it.. then have the age thing locked after you've set it once.
 
except now that you've gone and said that everyone will set their age to 18 regardless... this idea obviously isnt going to work.
 
how could this be controlled? im all for it, but i dont think it would work simply because people can say they are whatever age they want, all they have to do is make a new account and lie about their birthdate.
i think it would just be more effective to make a cult for 18+, which i am sure there already is, but is most likely dead since cults were sooooooooooooooooo 2005
 
what they should do is give members the ability to flag posts as off topic/offensive/or immature. Then mods would have an easier time controlling content.

Or members could select options that would only show posts that are not flagged if they wanted to.

Also the rules are terrible, the mods all follow their own rules so no one really knows what they can post. I think the way to go is like a craigslist approach. Where if enough people flag a post it goes away. The only problem with this is that it will most certainly get abused by people who disagree with each other.
 
Yeah there are some of these cults and they're not all hype, they're way too serious about it. Besides, I love the general cuntery of NSG, it just gets too bunk sometimes.
Perhaps what should happen is anyone who posts any unrelated picture (motivational poster or meme) gets permabanned.
 
No, many of the threads become such clusterfucks so fast here in NSG that when one posts a random picture on page like 7 of an argument it=many good laughs.. especially if it is Potamus doing it cause he always posts like 4-5 of them.
