I wish LVV could announce for the CBC (Canada). I think it would be great if the CBC and NBC could share his announcing for the freeski events. I fear it will be Mike Douglas but if NBC nabs him, then I really really hope LVV is scooped up by CBC. Mike Douglas and Uncle E were terrible announcing for Euro X -- I actually think they have gotten worse. Aside from not getting the tricks right, they seem to think that their job is to 2nd guess the judges....it is almost funny when they get it wrong. "That isn't going to be good enough to improve their score to be on the podium...Oh, and that score will put them in the lead and guarantee a podium spot." They often have inane conversation during a person's run. They tend to just spout off their opinions about the skiers. Mike Douglas also has a very noticeable bias for Salomon skiers and skis and that makes him the wrong choice. LVV does it up right -- he is enthusiastic and generally positive about all the skiers. He has done his homework. He knows the tricks. He talks with all the skiers during training so he can say something interesting, not just his opinion. If you aren't an expert about the freeskiing events, you'll probably learn something from his announcing. No, he isn't my friend (I've never met him) but I think his announcing is solid. I've heard he announces for other events and does really well with them too -- he does his homework and remembers the details.
