Petition for skiing pros to stop calling skiing "training"

Just because professional skiing is becoming more and more serious, it does not mean that it will directly affect myself and most other kids who have no true aspirations to become pro skiers negatively... Worry about yourself, if you refuse to call the skiing you do "training", don't call it training.

The pinnacle of this thread is that the OP has an aerials skier as his icon photo thingy. What a queer bait

i take sliding down hills very seriously and spend alot of time training to to do it better, as a result, i get paid to slide down hills 9 months a year. come at me bro

Heyheyhey......no northern ontario comments. Had it hard enough as it is before i moved......don't throw us all under the bus.

you sound like a loser. winning is fun and skiing is fun. if pros can do both at the same time by "training" why wouldn't they? why wouldn't anybody if they could?

I ski to have fun, and so do most people on this site. But if you got paid to ski, and paid more to win competitions and get video parts I'm pretty sure you'd 'train' too. If somebody sent me a letter telling me I had a chance to be in the Olympics or X-games I'd probably go train too. The bottom line is- Pros that get paid to win are going to train, pros that get paid for style don't need to care

I don't know man, you're talking about the Olympics. If i were good enough and had an opportunity to compete at the Olympics, I would train hard and I would call it training. Who wouldn't? It's a chance to be known as the best pipe/slopestyle skier in the world. All people enjoy skiing in a different way. A select few train and use the word training. Don't let that bother you. You can ski however the fuck you want. I just want to see some crazy shit once the Olympics start.

yea im just gunna stop running and lifting. that way next year i wont get to ski all the pow i wanted to. great idea! how did i never think of this

hahahaha i mean if you want to be pro in anything your going to have to "train," especially in skiing. How can that upset anyone

It's a sport... People "train" for sports, To become "better" at sports, To do "well" in sports. "Training" has been around loonngggggg before the Olympics, it's not a new "term" being introduced to our sport.

what hope was there for this thread. either people are going to love it, or hate it. theres no way its going to become a "petition" even if it was, what pupose would it serve?

When you are getting paid to ski professionally (and assuming you partake in the contest circuit), there are certainly days when you have to push yourself to get new tricks dialed in. Staying on top of your game is your job, it is how you make a living. There are days when you hike a kicker repeatedly to learn a trick right before a contest. That is training.

I agree that skiing should be fun and the word training doesn't usually give an image of fun, but it is training. They are trying to get better at what they do and that is what training is. I mean, everyone has to train for their sports, why should skiing be different?

making a thread like this: either stupid or trying to troll.

bumping your own thread like this after two months: either really stupid or really trying to troll.

for anyone who competes at all in skiing, working on new tricks and dialing in everything is considered training. your point invalid.
