Petition for ski patrol to stop doing this

This is just a silly thing to complain about, cutting off clothes is very standard procedure.
 
Don't ski in pants, problem solved,

I broke my leg, but I don't understand why they cut it. What kind of buck ass hospital is this? Was it a compound or open fracture? Ski pants come off with hands...ski boot comes off with fentanyl...standard procedure

When my dad broke his leg last year (tibia, spiral fracture) patrol got the boot off in the patrol room without cutting off or drugging him up. Ballsy call.

Pc ski patrol, compound fracture and they took my boot off without any meds
 
I feel for you man.. however, if it came to tending to a serious injury for me, I wouldn't mind if they cut thru. I prefer my limbs being salvaged... no sarcasm here btw
 
Usually they ask. I broke my collarbone and they asked if I could get my jacket off and baselayers.

I see, well best wishes this doesn't happen again. But if it does, next time see if you cant get a ride direct to the hospital - not an ambulance, they're way better trained to handle this stuff than ski patrol (not bashing ski patrol, but no 25 y/o kid is better equipped to handle your fucked up leg than a 60 y/o orthopedic surgeon). copper ski patrol tried way too hard to get me into their patrol room so they could set the bone, and it's just not worth the effort when you're in that much pain. You end up having to do more transportation than in the first case, get worse care, then the insurance is a shit show because nobody knows who to bill and where. They also won't cut your pants.
 
When I broke my leg ski patrol tried to cut my pants off. I told them to kick rocks and took the pants off myself. Cutting cloths off is important in true traumatic emergencies and most isolated fractures don't come close to meeting this bar. Besides what did ski patrol even accomplish by cutting your pants? Did they tape a cardboard splint to your leg and send you on your way?

That’s exactly what they did, they put that wooden brace thing on and sent me down in the meatsled. I asked the dude before anything could I just roll up my pants? And he just got to cutting.

Defund ski patrol.
 
This is what all doctors or surgeons will do if immediate medical attention is needed, but I don’t think that ski patrol should do this because they aren’t going to do a life saving operation in a shed at the bottom of the hill. They should other call ambulance, helicopter or let you go to the hospital.
 
I heard henrik wears XXL so if he crashes and fucks up his leg, ski patrol can just unclip his suspenders and gravity will do the rest

yo you know what would be sick is cut off the other leg and sew them up to turn them into shorts, only if theyre like the windbreaker type pants that would be weird as shit having insulated shorts
 
I shattered my collarbone while surfing once and refused to cut my wetsuit since I had just gotten it. That was a painful experience
