Petition for Sell/trade Forum to move to SnapCash

Why do you need a petition? People can just use snapcash or paypal, whichever the seller wants....

I honestly think this snap cash thing could be a game changer when it comes sharing money with friends. Especially when you need to pay friends back.

I often find that when you owe someone money or someone owes you money, its not because they dont have the money, its just that they dont have the physical cash to give to you (unless they are scumbags and dont actually have enough money to pay you back). Through snapcash, they can just link their debit card and easily pay you the 5 or ten or how ever many dollars they owe you and it gets transfered straight from your checking account to theirs and vice versa

uhhh i didn't read 100% of the details about it but it seems like a horrible way to pay if you ever had any disputes. at least paypal offers some payment protection

My question is what if your phone gets stolen and somebody sends like $1000 to themselves and destroy the phone? It seems like there is a lack of security

Snapchat gets hacked all the time. People are gonna lose tons of money

This.....I really don't see this all going down too well.

Yea this, paypal and snapchats security protocols arent exactly on the same page...

Snapcash is a horrible idea. If Snapchat gets hacked, again, said hacker could access bank accounts or however you are supply the money on snapcash.

snapcash is essentially venmo but you don't have to download another app to use it. not bad

I'm a big fan of venmo, and though I don't know all the details about snapcash, I feel much more comfortable putting my banking info into venmo than snapchat. Venmo was made for it and looks more professional, which is why I trust it. I'm also a little wary of linking my money with an app that I use primaly for nude/drunk/illegal/whatever etc. pics. Cool idea because most people have snapchat though, but on my campus venmo is already very popular (I'd say most of us started using it last spring).

And because of my whole ramble about not trusting the app, inb4 tinfoil hat or one of those memes

I don't think it's snapchat thats being hacked, it's those other apps that allow you to save the pictures.

However many people including myself would be hesitant to give a third party direct access to their checking account. I have honestly never even use my debit card anywhere accept the ATM (Learned the hard way). With credit cards and Paypal there is at least is a barrier between thieves and your money.

you would almost certainly have to enter your password to send any money

Venmo has existed for a lot longer as a way to pay back your friends.

Snapchat isn't actually controlling your money snapcash runs with square which is a pretty trusted company and Im pretty sure that they handle everything that has to do with snapcash, not snapchat.

Basically all snapchat did was to integrate square in their app, they didn't really invent anything new.

Welcome to the digital age, where everything is capable of being hacked.

Instead of avoiding something because it can be hacked, you should avoid it if it isn't FDIC insured, like Venmo or Paypal are.

Square has had the app "Cash" out for a while now. I'm guessing they are integrating with Snapchat to get out to more people. I love the Cash app and would highly recommend it. Super fast and easy transfers between checking accounts. As for someone getting ahold of your phone and sending a bunch of money- they would also need your security code from your debit card. At least that is how Cash is, not sure how it works within Snapchat. Bottom line though, I'm going to keep using Cash as I feel it is probably slightly safer than Snapchat's platform.

Hey nick send me a dollar

are you fucking stupid? your just asking for people to scam the fuck out of you. Paypal is all ready 100% better.

These are words I have never heard before.

You obviously haven't used it, as some one who has used it over 500+ times it does every thing i want it to do. Have fun linking your bank account to an app that has been hacked dozens of times.

1) I've easily used Paypal that much, and while I've never had a problem, their resolution policy is fucked. Google all the horror stories of their "guilty until proven innocent" approach.

2) Who gives a shit if something gets hacked as long as it's FDIC insured. They're required by law to foot the loss and refund you while they figure their shit out. Hence my argument that Snapshit or Venmo or Paypal are no more "safe" than each other. It mostly comes down to how the respective companies handle disputes (Paypal is dead last), along with convenience preferences. I prefer Amazon Payments and Venmo all the way.

as I havent used Venmo or Amazon payments i cant compare but when it comes down to Paypal, they are the best and will stay the number one used site for money transaction for as long as they stay stable.
