i dont want to create more hate on this site, but did anyone else not get peter's edit,

injury meant that he barely skied which is unfortanate but i didnt understand the whole 'im such a big drinker, people dont know me when im not drinking' theme

have i got completely the wrong end of the stick or is this general concensus
 
He has a reputation of a huge partier, loves to drink, do crazy things etc...Hell, he didn't get an enormous bag of Snuss for nothing, he enjoys his substances and whatnot, so he decided it would be funny to play around with that and act like he quit drinking. The only reason it was so funny is because that is such an outrageous idea, he would never quit drinking or partying.

...I think.
 


I should just point out here that British humour and American humour is quite different. Most don't understand the other's.

I tend to find American humour a bit more subtle (hence why you might not get it) and British pretty much straight up. But I might be wrong, who knows.

 
Snuss are little bags of tobacco (like tea bags but the size of a chewing gum piece) that you put in your mouth up in your gums, i gives you a mad head rush, stronger that smoking does. It's a scandi thing that really hurts the first time you do it.

Also, yes english and american humour is different, but i think it was the way in which peter delivered his story that lacked the hilarity, it could have been a good piece, but it just looked lazy to me. i mean, i woulda got some footage of him studying in a library or working out/exercising, showing this real change in character, but it was just LVV talking crap...

american, humour and subtle are three entirely mutually exclusive words. on very rare occasions, two of the three might be found legitimately in the same sentence but NEVER all three.

as for peter's video... not funny on any comic level.
 
I thought that shit sucked. Especially since I watched all the other videos first. Fucking Oscar Sherlin, Henrik, Jon, Simon, pretty much everyone - they all killed it so hard. Even the few tricks in Clarke's beat anything Olenick did. I really think dude needs to just quit. He didn't bring anything creative to that, just the same tricks he's been doing for the last three years.

And the whole partying joke was fucking weak. Sweet, you're a pro skier with mediocre style and a decent bag of tricks and you party a lot. Who gives a shit? Give us some innovative skiing to watch. We can make videos like that with our friends, we don't need our pro skiers to do that, especially not when that spot could've gone to someone way more deserving.... Rainville, Pep, Vanular, ect.

Fuck Olenick.
 
yo, I threw in enough reasoning to back up what I'm saying, and if you can refute any of it, please do. Sometimes shit needs to get hated on, and this is one of those instances.
 
what you said is so true tho, he has a mediocre bag of tricks with textbook style, nothing about his skiing stands out. The one thing he has going for him is the whisky flip, but everything else i've seen from him is just so stale. The only possible reason for 10 seconds of skiing in a 5 min video would be injury, but if you are injured you should give up your spot like charles and pk did.
 
I like how you emphasized just how mutually exclusive they are...then went on to say that you can find (two of) them legitimately in the same sentence (thereby making them, of course, not mutually exclusive). Also, what about subtle and humor? Are you saying there is no subtle humor in the world outside of the rarest of occasions?
 
Why the fuck is everyone still dissing on peters video when he was fucking injured goddamn give the guy a break, i actually thought the no party skit was funny and what else are u gonna do when u cant ski in the comp but still have to make an edit. It seems like all of ns just does nothing but hate on him any time he runs into some bad luck like he has in the past

Will you please shut the fuck up with this shit? So many threads I look at bear this worthless blight. You're not special, nobody gives a shit about what you agree with, and your attempt at being unique and edgy is just lame.
 
yeah dude i agree with you. and to go further the guy you're quoting couldn't be more wrong about the two different senses of humour. Yes the English and American sense of humour is different but in completely the opposite way from what he said. American humour relies on jokes with a punch line and therefore not subtle at all. English humour is usually underlying and less obvious.

Im not saying i prefer one or the other, both are pretty damn funny in their own ways.
 
what i find is the british are more interested in a comemdians characteristics where as americans rely more on their punchlines

PS the kid in the sport coat was hands down the biggest nerd in the vid. who was that fruitcake?
