Peter O and Josh Bibby--New Sponsors

Peter is now riding for Nordica, and Josh just signed with moment yesterday morning. This is what I learned at Icer Air.

i think he left. from what i understand peter didn't feel that Salomon was very unprofessional towards him and he felt that his time would best be vested elsewhere.

i know right. i thought that he would have gotten back with salomon... thats what i would have done

olenick & Nordica.......ok

bibbys got a good deal there tho...

there was an article in like lat months freeskier about olenick and salomon.... hate to see them drop him.....

olenick probably wanted more money and more input into his skis - salomon had way too many big names so they prob didnt pay enough attention to him - nordica is a big company with a lot of money that was in need of a really big name in the comps

and everybody knows that moment makes great skis - and their rocker is similar to the K2 Bibby was riding last year

I'm pretty sure salomon didnt want a douche who steals people's credit cards on their team. Now that Pete O is gone i might invest in some new SPK boots and maybe some guns

Yeah the moments look amazing this year. The reno graphic is only beatable by select line skis, and the 06-07 Armada AR6 in my opinion.

thats awesome, glad to see nordica getting some real solid riders, just goes to show that they're starting to put out a real good product and that they care about the freestyle movement... and dont go saying they just paid him more, sure they gave him money but you arent going to ride on a ski that sucks. real sick for pete, stoked for bibby too, ive only heard good things about moment.

Yeah.. that was crazy man.

I was going into the event all like "whoa.. i wonder what Pete O is going to be shredding on" then i look at his skis.. i'm like WTF NORDICA?!

and then seeing bibby with Moment? that. is. SICKKKK.

That's definitely unpredictable for peter. I thought he'd gp with another big company, but I guess if he wants input, he'll get more of it with Nordica.

ummmm not true. The guns are definitely not a charging ski like the enforcers can be, but the nordicas can be a great powder ski too.

The blowers apparently stomp switch in powder like no other and kick ass all over the BC. I haven't heard too much about the ignitions but I do agree, salomon has probably put a lot more effort into their park skis than nordica has, but nordica kills them everywhere else, except for maybe the rockered x-wing or whatever it is that salomon has.

Yeah I was watching a video of Icer Air on Freeskier and I saw Peter and I thought "what skis is he riding?" and well I couldn't really tell. So thanks for the clarification.

The Ignitions and the Sparks are better for park. The sparks are by far the softer ski, and probably are better for jibbing with in some cases.. but they are also a cheaper made ski, and by that account are not as good. both skis have very similar dimensions. 84 underfoot, but the ignitions have a wee bit more sidecut. 122 in the shovel and 112 in the back, while the sparks are 118-84-110. The ignitions are probably the better ski for all mountain kind of stuff, while still able to kill in the park. They have a shitload of sidecut compared to other skis in the same realm. The turning radius is more than any other ski in the class, so on groomers these things could carve it up with any other ski out there.

the sparks are more like something in the realm of a salomon thruster or maybe even thalls.. although maybe a little less durable.

Nordicas are funking heavy thats for sure. and Peter got dropped by Salomon. their sales were hurting last year, they needed to drop one of their high profile skiers due to money issues. Peter came after Sammy and Simon.

MAYBE their sales are hurting because many core skiers, lady karma, the snow gods and all other forces in the universe are still feeling negative vibes when they think of Solomon...I hope it will affect them the same way it affected the Red Sox for 100 yrs after they traded Babe Ruth, if you have loved skiing at all for at least a few yrs, you know who I'm talking about.

i kinda doubt that he is riding for nordica.

sure the base looked liek nordica's wich would mean the skis are made by them. but the topsheet surely didnt look like them. I'm guessing he is riding on them but not for them cause I dont think anybody would let their prorider ski on their skis without their topsheet in there. that would take away the reason they pay him for

somebody said up there ^^^^ Nordicas are fuckin heavy! they are one of the lighter skis around. the enforcers are heavier as they have a metal peice in the topsheet but the blowers are lighter as they dont have that.

and just looked at the pics on freeskier, quebecfreestyler peter has the new nordicas on, they have a light green and dark green topsheet.

haha, it's funny that you wouldn't buy the SPK boots because Pete was on their team... man, what a gay reason to miss out on a sick pair of boots. i wouldn't care if Charles Manson was on their team- those boots are fuckin sick and i would have bought them no matter what. seriously, the most comfy boots i've worn.

unless I've missed one, there hasn't been any type of a press release about Nordica sponsoring Peter, and you think they would have to maximize their exposure esp before the Icer Air, as it would be the Debut comp for Peter being on Icer. I don't know if he's on them or not, but if a company were to pick up Pete O, you would think there would be some kind of announcement, just makes sense.

Thats what I was thinking as well.. which is why i'm still sorta confused about it.

I just saw he was riding on ignitions and figured hes either with them, or testing for them, or something of that nature.

I'm going to wait till I see further proof before I come to the full conclusion.

Huge in everything but freeskiing. They only have 3 freeskiers on their team, or 4 or something like that.

They are relatively small in their twintips and freeski areas. He'll have the input he wants.

That's what I meant.
