so i have to write a persuasive essay and i can have whatever topic i choose. So what are some good persuasive essay's i could do about skiing?

Wrong thread...

But this has already been discussed try searching, or you could do it about something besides skiing, you might actually learn something.

if your teacher knows about the topic it hepls....im researching middlebury college which my teachers son attended 8 years ago

i find that hilarious.. but try to persuade fellow classmates/teacher to vote, and the importance of it (even if you dont find it important) its a very easy topic to find information on.. and believe it or not you may just learn something!

my sugestion would be to do it on weather or not all of this spin to win and double flip stuff is beneficial to the sport or not

I'd suggest that you write your essay on the subject of how you feel about the commute to your local ski hill.

obviously youre still in grade 6 but i was just giving the guiding question it is up to the righter to make the argument either way

ima lose k for this..w/e

you might wanna start by learning how to use the plural and possessive...from 13 year olds maybe, but for real

the writer?
doing a persuasive essay on something like you suggested is going to get you nowhere. what evidence could you possibly find to make a persuasive essay on double flips helping or hurting the sport? that's got to be the dumbest suggestion.

wtf are you talking about a persuasive essay is about opinion and useing evidence through research to prove that opinion. If you had a thesis saying you think that all these 1440s and talk of triples arent progressing the sport because freestyle skiing should be more about style which is pretty weak i know. but then you go out find a bunch of reasons how you can prove that do up some paragraphs and hand it in the topic isent that important at least where im from persuasive essays are graded on youre ability to argue and prove youre point

Skiing Vs. snowboarding.
i did it a few years ago when and compared the snowboarding slope run at x and skiers and skiers threw down harder.
some other shit too, i cant remember.

arguing and proving a point cannot be done without evidence. saying "I think this is hurting the sport because . . ." proves nothing, it's just stating an opinion. what documentation would you possibly use that remotely supports that thesis?
my advice: pick a real topic. you'll just end up with a shitty grade if you choose this one.

dude you can write a good persuasive essay on just about anything. like, i would pick an something crazy because its going to put more emphasis on your ability to actually write persuasively and make a point. Like, write to your teacher why she should quit her job and travel the world or something... be creative.

That point may be weak but I think your onto somn. Say how all that shit is hurting the sport b/c it is hurting the athletes. Ppl have to push themselves to do extremely dangerous stunts to be considered a good skier (this is sort of hypocritical b/c that is kind of the point of extreme sports). Talk about how there needs to be methods to show potential w/o murdering yourself. Idk hopefully that'll help start you off on a train of thought

here's a good one: WHY CURTIS OWES ME 100 BILLS

seriously tho, i'd try writing your persuasive essay on trying to persuade yourself to pay back all the money you told people you'd pay them back.

why snowball fights should be allowed at school and how to make em safe enough haha i did that one and got a b+
