i have to write a "personal essay" draft for an upcoming english portfolio

it can be about ANYTHING!

i need some legit ideas, i need one more draft.

The key is to do something specific, if you try something thats too broad like AIDS, you;ll never be able to explain yourself thoroughly. Narrow down the field.

well, what are you passionate about? What personal things stand out and really excite you. If you write about something you really care about, it will turn out much better because it will have passion and conviction versus the average essay which just fulfills the needs of the assignment. Give us some information about you and we can help better.

write about how even though technology has increased communications, its also use as a way to avoid communication

ex) pretending to be on your phone to avoid convo, walking away from AIM when you dont wanna talk

518*BRATT i really like your idea. but KEEP THEM COMING PLEASE.

i'm writing this tomorrow.

i've had to do a number of these essays and so far i've written about

1. an essay about how i don't wan't to write a personal essay, [ironically fulfilling the assignment]

2. racism [jeremiah wright, whites vrs blacks etc]

3. feminists [how they are hypocritcal, putting females above men -- defeating the purpose of equal rights]

4. a bullshit short story

5. a bullshit play

i was thinking about writing an essay about how hard it is to be a political minority [ex: conservative in new jersey/ nyc area] but i feel like i could write pages and pages on it.

number one is a solid essay and thats the one i'm going to refine, but i need to write one more draft to fulfill the requirements.

so basically: anything that won't take me long to do, and something not so controversial.

why is it that a forest area the size of Poland gets clearcut every year? but thats not cool enough i guess. or not pressing enough. fuck.

or how technology has created many different avenues of communication which has resulted in decreased productivity due to people being "over-accessible". for example, people are easily distracted by email, im, text messaging, phone calls, cell phones, etc. the ease of accessibility pulls their attention in so many different ways that it is hard to dedicate 100% of oneself to a project, conversation, etc. because of the interruptions. you could argue the + & - impacts to employers, or society as a whole.

Write about the rise and controversy of the 'afterbang/ride away', or any other NS debate, such as no poles, spin to win or hating on Dumont/Tanner/Everything.
