Persistant moderate back pain from ski injury

Last friday I was sliding a down rail , leaned back to far, came off the end sideways in the air, my body parallel to the ground, and facing the ground I landed on my stomach which ended up in my back kinda being squished I guess.

The pain was very moderate. I could feel that it was hurt but it didn't hurt a lot, and I could walk and ski the rest of the day, taking it easy. It felt like my back was generally sore, and I couldn't find a specific spot that hurt when I touched it or anything.

But... its not thursday, six days later, and my back still feels sore and hurts. I haven't skiid since but I have played hockey about three times since. My back still isn't in a lot of pain, it just feels sore all over. When I jump it really hurts. Even though I haven't done any physical activity in the past two days it still seems sore and really hasn't gotten better. But then again, its a very very mild yet persistant soreness/pain.

So what do you think NS?

Go ahead and check it out with a doctor. Usually injuries like that just cause trauma to the muscle areas around bone structures. You probably extended your spine/back farther back than normal when you hit the ground. Your muscles obviously aren't accustomed to that. So it probably just is general soreness that will take time. If you don't see a doctor, you should be massaging it and working out the kinks all over your back, regardless if you can't find a specific point. You should also do some stretches. Google "back stretches". Easy enough. Hope that provides some insight.

I am not a doctor so anything I say is not credible...

If there are no noticeable pain spots it is not a major injury probably just strained muscles or maybe bruised bone...who knows I'm not a doctor.

I have the same thing happen. It usually hurts for about 4 days. Kinda like my lower back. I think it's from doing jumps. The landing might compress my vertabre or something. But yeah go to a doctor or a chiropractor.

if you ride moto or downhill or maybe even drive rally or race karts, you will know what a kidney belt is. go to your local moto dealership, get one. problem solved. throw it on under your outerwear, but have one layer of undergarment under it. for example when i wear mine i wear Under Armour or a small t-shirt, then a big one and a hoody or whatever im skiing in.

i recommend Fox, SIxSixOne or Sparco if you can find some of theirs.

weird to get used to for the first run, but i PROMISE and GAURUNTEE you this will work.

Ive got the same thing, I injured it in December and it still hurts. Ive been taking it easy and It doesn't bother me much but when I get back it stiffens up and its a pain in the ass.
