Perseid Meteor Shower

Has anyone else been stargazing the last few nights? It was overcast last night where I am but on Wednesday night it was clear and I saw some really impressive fireballs and dozens of smaller shooting stars. I ended up sleeping outside, it was a beautiful night for it. I recommend heading out and taking a look tonight if it's clear in your area! I think it's slacking off a bit from the peak of the showers but there will still be some action in the skies.

went night fishing Wednesday, got back around 1am and was getting distracted driving back by shooting stars. When I parked I think I saw 5 in 2 minutes, was super cool and just a bonus for the rest of the night.

saw a few objects that seemed to be moving in the opposite directions of most satellites and going at a very fast speed. it was pretty interesting. couldnt have been a plane either because they blink through a red and white pattern and what i saw wasnt blinking

Yes I'm camping away from the lights fir a couple nights and am definitely going to be checking them out soon as I'm finished donating blood to the local mosquito community

saw quite a few last night and early this morning and will be gazing again tonight but tbh you seen one you've seen tgem all kinda thing

Did you get any pictures? Used to love doing night sky photography. Don't do it too much anymore. Some of my favs from back in the day.

Also, I'm a way bigger fan of meteors than northern lights. Northern lights aren't that impressive unless your eyes can do long exposures.

Great photos [tag=225125]@Lonely[/tag] . Thanks for putting them up. I didn't take any photos this time, but here's an old one of mine from Maine.

Saw a bunch in steamboat 2 weeks ago. We were pretty fsr away from town. Realy nice sky. Took a few photos but was trying to figure out my friends camera in the dark while drinking and eating mushrooms. No idea if any came out good but it was fun.

Some day you're going to be operating a camera and it will all weirdly click from that experience.

I like camera butbi have too much anxiety to get good at photography. It made me wanna get a dslr again and shoot some stars. I miss it. Mine got stolen in Sacramento 2 yeard ago. I hope the thieves get hit by a bus. Well maybe not. Prolly just homeless junkies. Maybe eventually well address both of those problems and help people in this country.
